etwas abseits vom Stadtzentrum, aber ausgesprochen freundliches Personal und gräumige Zimmer.

Ein Vorteil kann ein ein Nachteil sein. Die Restaurants, Bars, Cafes etc. in unmittelbarer Nähe bringen viel Straßenlärm bis tief in Nacht. Des Weiteren gibt es eine neue Hotel-Dancing-Bar mit Life-Music. Drums und Bässe kommen bis in Bett. Schlafen ist so gut wie nicht möglich. Das Hotel selber ist stylisch und chic (wer's haben muß). Der relativ gute Preis wird durch die hohen Nebenkosten (Minibar, Wasser, Drinks etc.) wieder relativiert.

Don't stay here unless you're happy with a hotel determining when you can and can't go to sleep. Half the hotel's rooms are located above a courtyard housing a hotel club/bar which, at some point, had at least 400 guests partying hard, a DJ, and speakers pumping out teeth-shattering bass directly at us until 3:30 am. Called downstairs, asked why it was still going on so late (bars close at 3:00 am in Montreal), the guy goes, "Huh, that's weird" and hangs up. I'm not kidding. And by the way, I'm originally from Montreal; my first language is French, so it wasn't some miscommunication. The noise actually stopped at 5:00 am, after all, it takes time to clear out 400 people, and then it takes a very loud and talkative cleaning crew to pick up after them while dragging tables and chairs around. All very clearly audible, with windows closed and earplugs. Ah... the Opus earplugs. The hotel provides cute little "cubes" on bedside tables containing ear plugs, with packaging that reads something like "The Opus is located in a vibrant and lively neighborhood. Should outside activities disturb the peaceful environment of your room, use these earplugs". I had to laugh. No earplugs could block that level of noise out. The problem isn't the neighborhood; the problem is designing a hotel around a nightclub, and not doing anything to block the noise out. Had the Opus Montreal website clearly stated that half the rooms would be overlooking one of the city's most popular party location, I never, ever would have booked this hotel. There are too many good hotels in Montreal to go through this. This hotel is obviously more interested in alcohol revenues than in the peace and comfort of their guests. Overall, staff was rude, inconsiderate, and simply didn't care that it was absolutely impossible to sleep until 5:00 am. And, oh, yeah. I'm still paying for the room, right? No apologies, no comps, and it took a lot of work to get moved to a new room on the non-party side of the hotel

My wife and I shared a very enjoyable pair of evenings in the Opus and have only a few pieces of advice. 1) Trust the advice of the other reviews on this site and demand a room on the opposite side of the hotel from the nightclub. I have no idea how anyone could sleep through that noise sleeping above it. 2) Don't touch anything in the fridge. A mini-bar was available in our room with some extremely high priced items. Wow. Just Wow. 3) We felt a little under-dressed the whole time we were there. Bring your most posh attire...and your Ferarri. 4) Only valet parking is available. We saved some money by parking on the street. Those things said, we had a lovely room, a wonderful time, and a great location in the city and plan on reccomending the hotel to our friends.

While the Opus is aesthetically pleasing, with a great location--particularly in relation to the Jazz Festival, I could have slept better on the street with a blanket. There's a club in the hotel that plays earth shaking music until 3AM. Calls to move to a different room feel on deaf ears (they've been working there too long and can no longer hear anymore) and were completely unapologetic. The ear plugs that come with the room were not near enough to drown out the sound. If however, you like partying until 3AM (and I mean this with all sincerity), Opus is the perfect hotel. It's beautiful, comfortable beds and great restaurant and bar.

The Koko restaurant in the hotel was exceptional!! The food was a Pan-Asian influence and was remarkable. Be prepared to spent a pretty penny, but it is all worth it.

Our room was on the same side as the lounge/function area, which meant that each night in our room, so you were part of the party until it ended- usually around 3 am- so music, people talking outside. Very nice hotel - modern comfortable but when you go to hotel you plan on being able to go to bed before 3 am

The air conditioner in my room did not work - so the engineer replaced the unit after testing - and the replacement did not work either. The desk response was immediate, the engineer worked fast and seemed competent - but without a fix I was uncomfortable. Then when I was trying to sleep all I could hear was the boombox like beat coming from the restaurant downstairs where they were having a wedding. That went on well after midnight. I called to ask if I was above a disco - and the desk offered to try to get the wedding to turn down the sound - but my night was ruined so why ruin theirs?

We just spent last weekend at the hotel and had a fantasatic time! Very close to the hot clubs/ lounges on St. Laurent.

The hotel was in a hot part of the city and had a great bar sceene. Best reason to stay at hotel is access to bar and good value for the rooms.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was great! Located in a good spot convenient to many clubs and restaurants. Will definitly be back!

Very nice all around experience. Location is superb. Room appointments are very nice. Warm and accomodating even though we are American :) Only thing to watch out for is the valet service... kinda pricey (approx $26 CDN/day).

This hotel looks exactly like it does in the pictures, but better in person because you always expect the pictures to exaggerate. It's very low key, has a bar and restaurant, but my room was worth every penny. The bed, the bathroom, the decor, the lighting, even the doors and mirrors all said class, relax, you deserve this. The room was not cramped and room service was pretty on point. I had a nice view and there are a number of places to eat in the area. Only thing I'd say is that hotel prices of course were ridiculous... but doesn't every hotel try to scheme $4 for a kit kat bar worth 75 cents? Ahh well, if you have money for mini bar etc. then you'll really love it. I'm definitely picking this hotel again and no I wasn't paid to type this..I'm serious, great experience.

The quality of the service at this hotel was on par if not better than that of the Four Seasons in Philly where I regularly stay. The rooms were nice, if not quite as luxurious. The only minus is the raging party in the bar lasting until 3 am on weekends. For some this will be a plus. The location is great too. Overall, an exceptional value.

The Opus, part of a two-property chain is family owned and their attention to detail shows. Lovely service, fantastic, comfortable rooms--ours had a wonderful soaking tub, L'Occitaine products and in-room bottle service. Bedding was lush, room service great and on-property restaurant, KoKo was terrific (if expensive, but it is Montreal...) only downsides, the room could have better light for workers and readers, the location is a little out of the way if you're bound for shopping on St Catherine or dinner on Crescent. Also, no in room wifi was a bit of a nuisance.

The Opus Hotel is in a great location of downtown Montreal right off of St. Laurent and very close to everything including restaurants & nightlife. The rooms are cool, modern, and nicely sized. The front desk staff was great. There is also a 24hr convenience store right across the street which comes in real handy for late night beer, wine, and snack runs. Ok so now the "Cons" and keep in mind that we stayed here for NYE so I'm sure that this is not a reflection of how the hotel always is but since this is the only date we stayed this is the only feedback I can give. The problem that I had was after a long 8.5 hour snowy drive from Philadelphia I was ready to check in and catch a little nap. Unfortunately for me the band for their NYE party was sound checking at the time I arrived. So in my room on the second floor for about 45 minutes I could not get any rest due to a repetitive drum that just kept going and going like the energizer bunny. Believe me I know that the squeaky wheel gets oiled but after the long drive i just didn't have the energy to complain plus every few minutes i kept saying to myself this can't possibly go on much longer. Also to kind of add insult to injury when I asked about the NYE's activities for the night. I was told that the hotel was having two separate parties for the night one in their small restaurant and another in their small bar/lounge with a cover charge of $80 per person. Keep in mind that this was per outlet, per person so if we wanted to celebrate NYE's in their tiny restaurant and also in their small hotel bar/lounge it would have been $160 per person, which we thought was ridiculous. So finally after coming back from hanging out elsewhere due to their extremely overpriced activitieds we were ready to get some sleep but we were kept awake for awhile by a group of young guys next door still partying and bringing in the New Year in their room. To the hotels credit they eventually sent security to handle the situation. But all in

The hotel itself and front desk staff/concierge were wonderful. Our room was extremely nice as well. The room service attendants made the bed, changed towels and did general cleaning very well, but couldn't manage to leave the quantity of coffee (2 for each of us) we requested during our whole stay. They would also sometimes leave dirty coffee cups and wine glasses. Small thing but irritating to call Housekeeping each time we arrived back at our room. Overall though, the location was fantastic. Check out Prince Arthur for fantastic shops, cafes and general people watching opportunities. Would also highly recommend taking the Metro down to Old Montreal and prepare to spend the day. Wear comfortable shoes as you will walk, walk, walk!

Was assigned a 1st floor room overlooking the patio bar and listened to the thumping,pounding well into the night. No courtesy curtains-total exposure or total darkness-room lighting very poor-bathroom lighting terrible! Main restaurant closed for private party each night-bar/lounge also closed 1st night and uninhabitable the 2nd night due to unbearably loud stereo system playing rap-type noise! Location not close to shopping,etc. All employees encountered were very nice and courteous and generally helpful, however my sense was that since I was prepaid and booked through hotels.com that they were not obligated to do much for me.

Opus Hotel Montreal was perfectly located between Old Montreal and Mont Royale, so you could walk everywhere. The staff was very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to make your stay go well. I had dinner one night at Koko's, the restaurant in the hotel and it was also great.........Asian fusion at its best. The rooms were very contemporary, but comfortable........great beds. I will definitely stay at the Opus Hotel when I make my next trip to Montreal.

Great hotel, great experience; but if you are a light sleeper, be sure to request a room that's far from the lounges. It gets very noisy and stays noisy very late on weekends.

This hotel was very hip with modern European style and great people. I highly recommend it. Great location near St Laurent Street. Almost could not be better. Some rooms don't have tubs - rooms that do the tubs are huge - very nice. Make sure to specify. Internet access could be better. Weak WiFi in lobby. Wired in room OK. Both somewhat slow, but acceptable.

The hotel's architecture is very modern, the staf is great, and it is located walking distance to great restaurants and clubs.

Beautiful style and decor, and in a great location for good bars, cafes and restaurants. Only criticism is the dim lighting in the rooms - whilst there are lots of accent lights, the room remains quite dark even when they are all on.

Comfortable,(great down pillows and bedding)and friendly hotel - terrific staff - near many trendy shops and restaurants. Hotel staff couldn't be nicer and are extremely helpful.Very hip/contemporary feel.

My fiancee and I were thrilled with our stay at Opus. My conversations with the concierge staff prior to the stay were very pleasant and they followed up with everything to a "tee." The staff confirmed our initial impression of them upon our arrival. Very courteous, anticipatory and helpful. The hotel's location made for an easy to commute to all of our destinations in the city (many of them walking). Our room was also very cool. Uniquely furnished with great attention to detail. The only negative was the poor lighting in combination with the dark walls. This made finding things a little cumbersome. Though great for a romantic getaway, I would not recommend this hotel to business travelers. It's simply not set up for that, and frankly, shouldn't try to be. Thank you, Opus, for a terrific experience!

We stayed at the hotel for four nights and still didn't want to leave. The staff at the hotel were the most helpful and friendly people we could ask for. The room were spotless everyday. The room was extremely chic, and the bathroom was my dream bathroom...glass title, super deep tub, black vs. white contrasts. We especially loved the self-serve espresso machine in the lobby. The location cannot be beat - right on the tip of the Latin Quarter, 2/3 blocks from St. Catherine's and 20 minute walk to Old Montreal. This hotel was perfect for our vacation!

Bon hotel 4* cependant il y a beaucoup de lacunes au niveau des services, certainement du a la jeunesse de l'équipe. Ne repoduirait pas l'expérience je préfere de loin un Fairmont par example

Hotel bien placé à 15 minutes du Palais des congrès à pied et à deux pas des rues Sainte Catherine et Saint Denis dans le quartier des spectacles. Le service est irréprochable, les chambres sont spacieuses et luxueuses. Le restaurant de l'hotel (KOKO) est excellent mais un peu cher. Mais on peut trouver beaucoup d'autres restaurants dans le quartier.

Je voulais plus en partir. Chambre magnifique. Magnifique décoration. Tout est propre,tout est tout neuf. Super lit confortable. calme. placé à 10 min à pied des quartiers à visiter a Montréal. Personnel acceuillant. Seul bémol: Wifi gratuit uniquement dans le hall d'accueil et pas en chambre.
