. . . was all I was really wanted while I visited my daughter who is living a few blocks away while attending college in Los Angeles. Since I know that this neighborhood is in the process of undergoing redevelopment, my expectations were not very high. But to my surprise, my room at the Knight's Inn turned out to be much better than expected. Though amenities at the hotel are sparse, the room sported the fundamentals to my satisfaction. The air condition room offered a welcomed refuge from Los Angeles' August heat. The bed was comfortable. The room had a coffee maker to start my day and a refrigerator to keep my beverages in. All in all, the Knight's Inn is an excellent value. I will be using the Knight's Inn for future visits with my daughter.

I've stayed at the Knights Inn on a number of separate occasions. The rooms are always clean, if a bit dated. Service ranges from a bit above average to excellent, depending on who is at the desk...but really, you don't need much in the way of service aside from checking in and out. I've never had to wait, and the check in/out process is faster at this hotel than anywhere else I have stayed. The surrounding neighborhood doesn't offer much, but you'll be close to downtown and Echo Park, not far from Silver Lake or Hollywood. Freeway access is very convenient, for both the 101 and the 110. Parking is occasionally difficult. There is a gated, "underground" lot beneath the hotel, but it can be rather cramped. The spaces are small, and the support columns can make navigation intimidating if you don't drive a compact. If you have to park in the surrounding neighborhood, you may have to drive around a bit to look for a spot, and then walk a couple of blocks to the hotel. Not that big an issue...parking is often a chore in a major city. In short, if you're just looking for a place to clean up and rest during your stay, then Knights Inn is a good, affordable hotel. No funky smells, quiet, convenient. Thumbs up.

The Knights Inn was pretty much what I expected going in. The neighborhood was a little questionable, but I didn't plan on walking around much. Needed a clean place to sleep as a base of operations for business. The bed was comfortable, the room clean. No pool, no restaurant, old TV but good cable service and wireless internet connection. Gated parking at the hotel. Not a bad hotel, but I'm not sure you would want to take the family there.

Important to note this is near the freeway just NORTH of downtown, not south (my mistake). Nevertheless, convenient and inexpensive bus service if you're without a car. McDonald's just down the street, Metro Red Line a 10-minute walk, or transfer from bus. Pleasant and easy arrival. The next morning, it turned out the shower didn't work so I was transferred to a neighboring, better room where everything worked fine. (I noticed the other shower being fixed soon after that.) Nice little breakfast room; computer for use in lobby. Not fancy, but excellent value among the huge big hotels of downtown LA.

Excellent service for the money you paid. Close to LA downtown, Hollywood and other places of interest. Room has a "nice" view to I-101 freeway 30 feet away and guests have excellent opportunity to listen to LA heavy traffic for the whole time of stay. Parking lot has a locked gate and staff was very polite and helpful. I would recommend Knights Inn if you are not afraid of traffic noise.

I've stayed at the Knights Inn a few times now. I typically prefer another location located in the heart of downtown, but for some trips it isn't worth the expense. That is when I come back to the Knights Inn. The staff is always very friendly and courteous, and though the location is obviously rather aged, the rooms are quite clean and comfortable...the mattresses are a bit stiff for my tastes, but ah well. The one real negative is the parking. They do have a number of spaces in the secure lot beneath the hotel, but some of them are simply too small to use. Street parking, as is the case pretty much everywhere in LA, can be a hassle. Otherwise, the Knights Inn is a fine place to stay, as long as you aren't expecting much in the way of amenities. It is an affordable, clean, well-staffed place to sleep, shower, and rest when you're not doing the things you came to LA to do. Have fun!

Need a lot of improvements.

Stay in the hotel wasn't bad. Bathroom was not very clean, mainly the shower. Beds were held up by cement bricks. No issues with the service, they were very courteous. Was very close to where I was going to and from while there. Wouldn't recommend it to someone unless they are only there to sleep and shower and that's it.

Parking is gated so that relieves tension about the car. Bed was clean.

The stay at the hotel was great, it was nice and clean. and very convenient parking, which I loved.I would defenetely recomend it and will come back and visit.

I arrived at this hotel 2 hours after making my reservation. It was awful. They kept my money and they said I had to cancel the reservation BEFORE I arrive and see my room. That's very interesting, isn't it? I walked out and I still got charged for a stay that I didn't make. The rooms were decorated in 1965 and the furniture was purchased at garage sales. The beds were cheap and squeaky and uncomfortable. The window was blacked out and loud freeway traffic was audible through the window air conditioner. I stayed all of 5 minutes and yet my hard earned money was still taken. Don't get taken by these people.

I had an appointment in downtown LA and my plan was to get in to town on the night before and avoid the terrible traffic. If thats your plan, then this place is perfect. There is a gate for the protected parking lot and all around the hotel. A friendly Mexican Bakery is just across the street. The staff is very helpful and friendly. On the down side, it really needs the protection of the fence. Its got a freeway on the back and a very busy street in front. I would not walk around at night. Basically, its good for the downtown location.

We needed a place to stay for two nights, and because we both are students, we couldn't afford an expensive hotel. As we read in the previous reviews, we didn't expect a remote for the TV. But we actually had one! (even if all of the buttons didn't seem to work...) The hotel manager, Tina, is very helpful and also gave us coupons to six flags, when she found out we were going there!!! The neighborhood isn't the best, but the hotel is safe. It isn't a luxury hotel, but a nice place to stay for a short while.

I felt the front desk agent, Rudy was very noce and helpfull. However the hotel itslf was dirty and old. Hotel was near Dodger stadium.

Clean, quiet, efficient & closer to Hollywood than you would think. The room is small but very nice. Tina Cho, manager, is great. Highly recommended for out of town family members visiting, or your own private "retreat".

The hotel staff was courteous and check in and out were quick. However the room was not clean, the room was extremely small and many things did not work; even the bedding was a little gross.

its a great hotel if you are by yourself or with a friend and need a place to stay just for the night. its nothing fancy or completely bad, its alright.

very noisy hotel, just by a very busy highway, the beds very uncomfortable, but the staff qu,te nice and helpful.

hotel overall was pretty clean, friendly service and nice size room, nicely furnished... the bed could have been more solid, this one wheels on it and squeak a bit... but over all very good
