Medinaceli - Barcelona

Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig. Dank der Lage des Hotels etwas abseits der großen Straße ist es nicht zu laut. Das Bett war bequem, das Bad groß, das Zimmer war mit einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Der Service war sehr gut. Das Zimmer wurden immer sehr gut gesäubert. Einen Safe gibt es auch. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ausreichend ausgestattet mit Brot, Aufschnitt wie auch Spiegeleiern und Speck.

Das Hotel liegt direkt zwischen Hafen und Ramblas an einer ruhigen Seitenstrasse von der man direkt in die kleinen Gassen in die Altstadt eintauchen kann. Es war himmlisch ruhig (im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels). Die Zimmer waren zwar klein und ohne tolle Aussicht aber sehr modern und sauber, und das Badezimmer war im Verhältnis sehr gross und sehr schön.

Close enough to Las Ramblas, but not too close. Nice view of the square from balcony. Helpful staff. Didn't get the breakfast -- better to go to the market just off Las Ramblas.

Excellent location. We could walk to the hotel from the airport bus (from placa de catalunya) in about 20 minutes. Beaches, Port Vell, Las Ramblas and Picasso museum also within walking distance. Staff were friendly and efficient. Our room was clean and recently re-decorated, v.modern looking.

It was small but very close to the Waterfront. Many small restaurants nearby. Close to the "Hop on Hop off tourist buses for familiarizing yourself with the area.

The hotel and room was beautiful, but three out of four days the elevator was out of service. SInce our room was on the fourth floor, we were obliged to use the stairs every time we went in or out, which should deter anyone with health issues or special needs. Also the airconditioning did not work very well at all, which obliged us to leave the windows open at night for fresh air. Since the hotel is situated on the edge of the Barri Gotic, there was much street noise (drunken college kids, mostly) until four every morning that interfered with or even prevented restful sleep. This contradicts with another review I read which touted the locale's quiet and sold me on the hotel. Barcelona and the hotel are beautiful, but if you need sleep, chose a quieter neighborhood.

We were very pleased with the Medinaceli. Great location, close to Las Ramblas and to a Sightseeing "Hop on -Hop off" bus stop. We walked up Las Ramblas to get the airport bus on the day we left. Very convenient. Only problem was that the taxi we took to the hotel from the pier went around in circles trying to find a way into the one-way street on which the hotel is located. Maybe some directions would be good to have?

It is a clean hotel in a very popular location. Close to many major sites. Front desk does speak English. The beds weren't too comfy and it was a bit hot because due to the time of year I went (end of March) the air conditioning wasn't operating. Overall a good place for the price.

The hotel decor was great. We had a very quiet room. The staff was helpful in mailing postcards, making resturant reservations, and having a cab ready for us in the morning to go back to the airport.

Medinaceli is ideally located for anyone who wishes to get stuck into everything that Barcelona has to offer. Located at the bottom of la Ramblas, adjacent to the port it offers all of the convienience of la Ramblas but without all of the activity outside your window. Medinaceli is beautifully decorated, very clean and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

MEDINACELI is just outside the Barri Gotic, one of the eldest parts of Barcelona and gives you easy access to the old city, the harbour, the beach and to Barceloneta. This it is an ideal place for exploring the city. Las Ramblas are a 10 min walk away. Most rooms face the square (Plaça Duc De Medinacel) which is off Passeig de Colom, a reasonably busy 6 lane road, and a hang-out place for the local homeless. Thus it is not the most quiet place in the world. But not worse than any other hotel in the old city and you do get the flair of how it is to live in this part of Barcelona. The rooms are very modern, nicely furnished with spacious bathrooms. The reception staff is friendly. Missing services such as ironing or a bar can easily be found close by the hotel. The breaksfast buffet is nice and clean and offers everything you would expect from a Spanish breakfast. Take the time to admire the awesome staircase - but take the lift if you are afraid of height. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this place and would recommend it any time for business or leisure.

This hotel was a block off Las Ramblas and across the street from the harbor. Extremely clean, comfortable and breakfast included. Very modern and staff helpful. Great location, close enough to the action, but away from the noise of Las Ramblas. I would stay there again and certainly reccomend to friends. Had to take a taxi to the airport, but on a sunday morning the traffic was light and the ride took about 1/2 an hour for about 30 Euro.

The people at the front desk were very helpful.We had the bellhop store our luggage, a service they provide. When we picked up our luggage we notice a number of zippers open. We didnt find anything missing.Be careful of the taxi service.The one that the hotel called , tried to over charge us.

Was pleasantly surprised at very central location just off La Rambla near the Christopher Columbus statue. Located on a pretty little square, complete with fountain. Steps from La Rambla, Barri Gotic, Metro stop Dessanes. Room exceeded expectations. Got room with balcony overlooking Medinacelli Square for just over a hundred dollars a night. Modern lobby, hallways, guestroom with brand new bath. Staff a bit cold but very efficient. Amazing breakfast in morning in nice basement restaurant. A great deal in Barcelona.

We spent very little time in our hotel because we were out site-seeing. The staff was very helpful and attentive especially when our airconditioning stoppped working. The hotel is very close to Las Ramblas, the beach, mass transit, and more! There was a free breakfast buffet that offered good food. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly go back. The room was quite small but more than adequate for what you need because you are there to see Barcelona not to sit in your room all day.

The location was great, the facilities wonderful. Upon checkout, though, there was a surprise 18-Euro fee for breakfast. Since this is commonly included in Europe, it seemed like a scam.

The hotel was pleasant, nicely decorated. It was convenient for our needs. The tour bus stops are close by. We found a great little restaurant right around the corner. The atmosphere in and around the hotel was pleasant. Not easy to get to if you're driving yourself. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful execept for the male on Friday morning (6/6/08).

Good hotel with short distances to major attractions. Relatively quiet location

bra läge, nära shopping o nöje. Väldigt osköna kuddar, annars perfekt. Lite liv stundtals på natten men så är det i city..
