Ziemlich neues und damit noch appetitliches Hotel in Superlage. Cable Car, Union Square, Financial District, alles um die Ecke. Zimmer und Bad waren für ein Stadthotel in den USA sehr groß und in tadellosem Zustand. Der Fitnessraum ist fensterlos und besteht aus jeweils einem Crosstrainer, Laufband und Fahrrad - aber für ein bisschen elementares Training reicht's. Insgesamt ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

This wonderfully clean, newer boutique hotel is located right next to the ChinaTown gate and not far from Union Square. Seven blocks away is a great seafood eatery, Tadich Grill on California Ave. Try the Chiopino.

Great hotel, great location and great price. I use to live in SF but was back just for the weekend and decided to find an affortable and nice hotel. Orchard Garden did all of that. If you want to shop its right around the corner from my favorite flag ship store! Hotel was very clean, bed was nice w/ down comforters, nice sheets and towels. Room service was great and timely. I would recommend this hotel anyone on a budget coming to SF.

We booked this on Hotels.com, and as it was our first experience with the site, well, we weren't too sure what to expect. Let me say that the Orchard garden was just wonderful..terrific location, great reception and attitude of the entire staff, and a fine little spot off the lobby where we enjoyed a glass of wine. You can walk just about everywhere from here, or take the bus of trolley. Really could not have been nicer..

This hotel was something of a find. We booked on line after looking at the web site of the hotel itself and comparing it to others in the location. The hotel is not a super larger luxury five star place with huge parking facilities, pools, saunas, enormous neoclassical columns etc; if you want that kind of thing then the Westin St. Francis is going to be more your kind of place. However the hotel is modern, clean, has enough facilities for a city visitor, has a fantastic restaurant (best food I ate during my holiday in California) and is superbly located. The rooms themselves are clean, nicely decorated, have a mini bar and also have well appointed bathrooms with lovely toiletries. The beds are very large and comfortable and though compact the rooms don't feel small. There is a fitness room (with a very limited number of machines, but nevertheless it's there) and a free business centre (although someone needs to update the software on the PCs) and both of these are complementary. The highlights of the Orchard Garden are it's location, restaurant and overall feel. TIP: Eat in the Roots restaurant at least one evening during your stay.

We often visit San Francisco, and were very happy with this hotel. Service was good and friendly. The room was very clean and nice. The location was great, we ate at several restaurants within two blocks. We will book here again!

In San Francisco its all about location. The proximity to things you love to do. For us a trip down to Union Square is always a must and this hotel affords the opportunity to walk to the shopping and great restaurants. We stayed here about a month ago and we were just as pleased this time as last.

Chinatown gate literally around the corner. Fantastic location. Staff was great, funny, prompt. Hotel is green, meaning it is actually LEED certified. Hotel stands out from the others in the area. Service was great. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and just the right size for two. I would stay here again. I visited San Fran for pleasure and to shop. Couldn't beat the location to walk to all the shops, go back to the hotel, drop off my finds, and then get back out to shop, eat, and drink. Love this hotel. Irish Bank bar right across the street rocks!

Really did like staying at the Orchard Garden during our 4 night stay. Within walking distance to lots of San Francisco. Hotel staff was outstanding and we got a room on the 8th floor, rear of the building and it was very quiet. Super clean room and I liked the idea that every time I left the room the lights and AC shut down to save engery. One dissapointment tho. Many of the reviews described what a wonderful nights sleep they got at the hotel. Yes the linens and comforter were very nice but the mattress was about as hard as the floor. Even my wife who likes a firmer than firm mattress said it was hard. Other than that this was a outstanding hotel.

I would consider myself very picky with high expecations and we could not have asked for anything more! Great location. Hotel staff was GREAT, courtious and helpful.

Our number one reason for staying at the Orchard Garden was its commitment to being environmentally friendly. We really liked the simple things they've done to save energy like requiring you to put your keycards in a slot to turn on the lights, so you don't forget to turn them out on your way out of the room. The room was very large, and the linens were incredibly comfortable. The room in general was great. The location of the hotel was very convenient, especially since we were travelling by public transportation and there's a BART station only a few blocks away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

The staff were friendly. The room (king single) was small but well-appointed. This hotel is only a few years old. The rooftop terrace is special. Don't miss out on the great robes in the closet. They look like packets of linen, so you might not notice them. Soundproofing is poor. The bar is expensive ($15 for a glass of wine). The fitness room contains only treadmills and bikes.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms were spacious and very nice, the location was perfect (right by China Town, a short walk from Union Square, Market Street and North Beach) and the area was clean and safe. We would stay there again!

Good location, great value, friendly and accomodating staff, comfortable and spacious room, cute rooftop sitting area and eco friendly. You won't be disappointed.

The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room was a bit small, but kept clean and we were able to get into our room when we arrived. It would have been nice to have complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning.

Hotel was very clean and well kept. Only problem is that we booked a king size bed and got 2 doubles, but the room was very comfortable. Parking is expensive 47 dollars a night but cheap lot up the street. On site restaurant is also expensive. Hotel is close to public transportation which is convenient.

This hotel was nice and clean, and we got a great deal considering the great location. The only negative thing was that our view was pretty bad. Our window faced a scary-looking alley with a dumpster.

I enjoyed this hotel very much. It was two doors from the entrance of Chinatown in beautiful Nob Hill. You could walk to all the great shopping places, jump on a F-train, and be in the castro in 9 blocks. The hotel was beautiful, great people, and excellent service.

The Orchard Garden Hotel was a very nice hotel. The location was great because it was centrally located to everything in the downtown area. It was a short walking distance to Chinatown, Market Street, the Embarcadero, Coit Tower, and the Central Business District, i.e. The Transamerica Pyramid Building. The hotel itself was very well kept, clean, new, and had a very helpful staff. The rooms were a bit small, and the bed was too soft to my wife and my liking, but those were minor issues to contend with. Overall a great value for the money. My wife and I would definitely stay there again.

Centrally located, comfortable, convenient. Helpful, friendly staff with great restaurant suggestions.

The price and location for this hotel was great for budget travel to San Francisco. The doormen and front desk were always pleasant and helpful with directions. The room was small and basic. Clean with a comfortable bed. There were several minor irritations with this hotel that added up when dealt with day after day. Forget about the "spacious rooftop patio" it's just a windy concrete slab with no view and metal chairs. Housekeeping kept forgetting washcloths and conditioner. The hotel is "green" so you re-use your towels. That's fine except housekeeping would fold them instead of letting them hang which meant that you had a wet towel when you wanted to use it again. The temperature was difficult to regulate, the room was not vacuumed daily. None of these things are awful, just annoying. But the price was right for the location if you're on a budget.

The Orchard Garden Hotel was a superb and great for all your needs in San Fran. The location is excellent - next door to the Chinatown Gateway, walking distance to Union Square, and just a few minutes away from cable car/bus stops. The room provided adequate space with a big bathroom, a very comfy bed, flatscreen TV and DVD player! This was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. Staff were friendly and very helpful - gave us advice on restaurants, travel and directions. The only con of this hotel is that there is no fridge or kettle in the room, however they do have a coffee/tea making machine - I just brewed it without tea/coffee for hot water to drink herbal tea.

Great Hotel, good price, great staff. I like the attention to being "Green", right down to the cleaning products and the shampoo. HDTV, ipod dock worked great. I did not get breakfast so I can't comment. Restaurant looks and smells first rate. Only one little thing which I was able to overcome... my cell phone reception was poor in my room (I have AT&T), I had to stand by the window to maintain a connection. Internet speed was OK at about 500 Kb/sec. I would define broadband at 768 or above. All things considered, a great place to stay in SF. I'll be back. Thanks.

We have stayed at the Orchard Garden twice. Each time the service is excellent, and the rooms are lovely, if small. Anyone with allergies will enjoy the clean air and absence of allergens from cleaning products an other sources.

staff were lovely, hotel restaurant ('roots') actually had good food. loved the dvd library.

I chose this hotel because of the incredible rate and the very positive reviews. And even with the good reviews, I was surprised at how pleasant it was. Great location, very bright comfortable room. I've already recommended it and would definitely stay there again.

The size of the room was the only thing that was not wonderful. Just a tad small, but did not at all impact our ability to rest and feel rested. We stayed 2 nights--the proximity to Union Square, Nob HIll and Chinatown was great. I will definitely return to Orchard Garden. The staff was hip, friendly and helpful. Several casual bistros nearby--good for quick lattes or lingering drinks inside or out while you discussed the ever-important dinner plans!

Orchard Garden is a lovely boutique-type hotel. The rooms are on the small side, but when you are in San Francisco, you likely are not going to spend much time in your room. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The staff was always accommodating and solicitous. The location of the hotel was perfect. We were able to walk to just about everything we wanted to see, and the cable cars were just one block away. We highly recommend this lovely hotel!

My wife researched many hotels before picking the Orchard Garden Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate,quiet and energy efficient. It's located right next to Chinatown Gate and Posh Bagel is right down the block for a quick breakfast. Fresh fruit always available. We stayed for 2 nights and wish it was longer. Good shopping one street over. Staff went above and beyond to meet all our requests. Parking a little high but car always available within 15 minutes. Loved the place.

I loved this place! The front desk staff were prompt, courteous, and very helpful. The room was very comfortable - even though it was not large, the space was inviting and very accommodating. The bathroom was fantastic, with a real tub, large enough for a good soak after spending several hours wandering around San Francisco. But the location was the best part - very close to Chinatown, a couple of blocks from the cable cars, lots of restaurants and shops. I appreciate the 'green' emphasis, and it only enhanced the overal comfort. I will DEFINITELY stay there again!

The hotel staff went above & beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. We were pleased with the Chinatown location and within walking distance of Fisherman's wharf and other San Francisco sites. I would definitely recommend The Orchard Garden Hotal.

We decided to book a night at the Orchard Garden Hotel and are glad we did. The staff was nice, the hotel classy, the room clean and the bed...very comfortable! Don't fall for the "happy hour drink". Although it is lovely to enjoy a cocktail on the rooftop of the hotel at sunset, you pay the drinks full price. The happy hour deal only includes a not so appetizing appetizer. The room did not have a lovely view, just the back wall of some other building but it was quiet and perfect for a good night sleep. Anyway, there is much fun to be had in the neighborhood and one shouldn't stay locked in the room. No breakfast was included, but we did receive a complementary newspaper in the morning.

Everything about the Orchard Garden is nice. The place is fairly new and it still has that "new car smell"! The hotel was created from an old building - which makes the rooms a bit small, but they are very pleasant. The main problem I have with the Orchard Garden are the showers. In their effort to be goody-goody "green" guys, the flow restrictors on the showers are so limiting, you have to try to get wet with just a trickle flow of water. It's a luxury hotel, with a flea-bag shower.

This place is really nice and within walking distance to most places downtown and China town. The rooms and very clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again.

I've stayed at Orchard Gardens multiple times and will continue be my "Go to" hotel during my work travels to SF. Good price for very modern and comfortable room even without the Winter discount. Rooms are large and comfortable with free wireless. It's fairly new hotel therefore it's very clean. Service is good but do not expect 5 star hotel treatment. I highly recommend this hotel.

The room that we got in this hotel was wonderful. The bed is very plush and comfortable, as are the robes!! The hotel is more of a eurpoean style and so the rooms are compact but they are not small and cramped- they just utilize space very well. We had a queen sized bed with many windows in the room that let in a lot of natural light. Another plus- the room was very quiet- We never heard any other guests and were able to sleep peacefully at night. We also really liked that this hotel is the first green certified hotel in the city! the only thing i did not like was the weird turn down service that the hotel provides- meaning that the housekeeping staff will come into your room sometime in the evening to turn down your bed. I thought that was weird. The hotel staff is friendly and can call cabs for you or suggest places to eat. the hotel is in an awesome location- walking distance to union square (2-3 blocks away) and a block away from china town. we even walked to and from pier 39 which only takes about 20 minutes. It is also close to the BART station on Market and trolley stops. it is also within walking distance of a 24 hour walgreens which was very convenient. the hotel offers a rooftop "garden" which is more like a patio that offers some beautiful views of the city. i loved this hotel and would recommend it again.
