Modern, clean hotel with well equipped/ decorated rooms in a good location. Next door to the convention centre and business district, but only 10 minutes walk to the old town. Breakfast was continental and included, with reasonable choice, staff extremely helpful (especially the tips they gave us on how to park cheaply!). Just be aware there is no bar or restaurant, just the breakfast room, and that nearest convenience shop is a short walk away.

Hotel was different in many ways. They provided a desktop in the room with internet connection for no extra charge. The decor was very modern/contemporary. They had environmental friendly room lighting features. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was adequate. Within walking distance of many restaurants, shopping malls and Old Montreal.

I don't think I would pay full price for this hotel, but if you get a discount, it's definitely worth it! This hotel is located right next to Chinatown and in a walkable distance to all restaurants and shops and the train station. I felt very safe inside the hotel (as a young female traveling alone) and was pleased with the comfort of the room and the free internet was great. All rooms are quipped with a computer, so it's easy to stay connected even if you leave your laptop at home! This hotel is located next to a modern art museum and there's a fountain that puts on a fiery display every hour in the park across the street. Montreal is known for being a very safe city, but I was nervous walking around after dark alone. There are quite a few homeless people in the area, and although they are not threatening, they will approach you for money.

Clean, computer and internet in room, hot muffins, etc for breakfast ( between 6 and 10)and a refrig in the room for our leftover Chinee food, since Chinatown is only a few blocks away. Plenty of room for myself, my daughter and her friend to sprawl across the room for 5 days. Unfortunately, there is no pool (but they didn't advertise one)

The hotel was amazing! The price we paid for the service and appearance we received was outstanding. Our room was gorgeous and it was obvious that everything was new and of great quality. It was definitely one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. In addition, their security in the lobby, elevators, and rooms was top of the line and we felt very safe.

My wife and I stayed here for one night prior to joining a cruise ship. We were within one mile of the ship terminal and in the heart of Montreal. The room was great, but our room was on the backside, so no view. The room and hotel had an Ikea feel (European pale wood) and everything was clean and neat. Great free Internet service from the room. The neighborhood is in the heart of Montreal. Many restaurants and attractions are within walking distance.

Pros: Location Computer, flat TV in clean room Bargain Cons: I can't think of major cons, but it would be nicer to have some warm food in their (free) breakfast.

This hotel was wonderful--we would stay here again and definitely would recommend it to friends. It was clean, well appointed and the staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was filling and had variety. It was also freshly made and replenished throughout the serving time. The location was pretty central to Vieux Montreal and Chinatown as well as the central shopping district. The street it is on was a little noisy from our 5th floor room but there are rooms that do not face the street.

This Hotel worked out great for us. It was close to everything. The room was very nice and the computer in the room was great. We used it often. The subway is close and very handy to get places quickly. All and all a great bargin in a beautiful city.

We were very happy with our three night stay at this hotel. We were in town for a conference and the location was perfect, we walked to Old Montreal easily. Several friends were staying at various other hotels in the area and ours was the best room with the best price. The beautiful bathroom with a large bathtub was great suprise. I would definitely stay here again and recommened it to all of my friends.

The Hotel Dauphin is a new, modern style hotel. Our room was relatively large in general size and had a very comfortable king size bed. The computer with free internet in our room was a great convenience. The hotel was less than a 10 minute walk from the tourist area of the old city, only a few blocks from the train station and very convenient to the Metro. The complimentary breakfast was great.

Very nice modern hotel w/great amenities--bottled water, computer, frig in room. Hotel clerks were nice but not very knowledgeable about restaurants or gas stations. It's centrally located. The surrounding area was a bit rundown. There are about 4-6 parking spaces in their garage (parking fee).

Great room for the money...Speaking French was not necessary....desk staff fluent in English, pleasant.

We arrived at around 2AM and the 24 hour desk service helps a great deal. We drove in from New Jersey so by the time we got there we were starving. The hotel is right next to chinatown and St. Catherine Ouest which had plenty of choices to get something to eat from. Parking is right behind the building in an underground garage and the metro is two blocks away to get wherever you need to go.

The staff were extremely friendly. We got there at 6 A.M. and they did not charge us extra for arriving before the check-in time. The room was great! I didn't expect a LG LCD television, nicely designed bathroom, extremely clean room, computer with free wireless internet access. This place is unbelievably affordable and the service and conditions of the hotel is terrible. They have an underground Parking lot which is small but if you are not driving, this place is definitely the best choice!

Room very clean, very neat design,great staff, location is great. It's got wireless internet and a computer in the room (wired internet), refrigerator and a safe. I would suggest a microwave would help. Breakfast is continental - a few scrambled eggs wouldn't be that costly to the hotel and would make a better breakfast.

Nice, modern, clean hotel. Staff was very nice! One issue that resolved immediately and with very friendly attitude. Computer in the room was very helpful! Good location, seemed to be central to all the things I wanted to do...which was all walking distance.

Great location - a very short walk to either Old Montreal or St Catherine. Room was clean and modern, comfortable (firm) bed, in-room PC and free internet access Free continental breakfast was excellent Check-in and out were both very fast - friendly staff Felt safe in the hotel - key cards required for elevator access. Overall excellent stay, highly recommended

Nice-size room and reasonable weekend continental breakfast. Location is convenient to the Place d'Armes metro stop and within easy walking distance of Old Montreal, Notre Dame and even points further downtown (if you're into walking).

The room was very nice, very European. The computer was an added benefit though the French keyboard took a little getting used to. There were many American cable channels available so could stay in touch with the news back home. The bathroom was beautiful, ceramic tile and glass. The breakfast had fresh baked muffins every morning with fresh juice, great coffee, cereals, bagels, croissants, yogurt and fresh fruit. The staff was always accomodating, especially Alexandra. She helped me change my reservation when my plans changed. The hotel is 2 minutes from the convention center which was ideal. Overall, I would love to stay there again.

Computer in room was such a plus....we were able to confirm our plane reservations. Loved the contemporary style of the hotel and the flat panel television. Breakfast was more than ample, with freshly baked muffins that smelled divine. The staff was so helpful with directions, subway education, and restaurant suggestions. (For great Chinese foood, try Beijing's in Chinatown----a quick five minute walk....very safe.) Can't remember a hotel stay that I was this impressed with. Great value!

Le Dauphin in Montreal was really smoke-free! Very quiet. Great location for walking to the old ville. Only drawback is parking a block away.

Great location...close to Metro and fully NON smoking. Would highly recommend this hotel.

First, don't believe when hotels.com tells you that there is complimentary parking at the hotel (when I called hotels.com and asked about parking that is what they told me). There is NO parking at the hotel. You have to park at the convention center, which is 2 1/2 blocks away, not in a convenient location, and costs $17 for every time you go out or $25 for the day. At check-out time, it took us 1/2 hour to get the car and get back to the hotel. Some other hotels in the area that don't have parking have valet parking. Second, contrary to what the hotel claims, there is no wireless internet available. They do provide a computer in room, which has internet connection. However, there is no internet connection for your own laptop. Third, the common areas felt more like a hostel than a hotel, the room was freezing and the thermostat didn't allow us to make it warmer, and the breakfast was disappointing. From experience, there are much better places in the area for about the same price.

New Modern room with a wonderful shower! And it just a few block from old Montreal

Great stay for the price. Computer and free internet in the room was a nice surprise. Continental breakfast was sufficient (home made maple muffins were a treat). Location a little walk to downtown but not out of the way. Room was new, clean and spacious, excellent shower.

What a lovely surprise! This hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet and had some very nice amenities. Not only was there wireless and wired internet connection in each room, there were computers. Not television computers but actual P.C.'s. The lack of pool or on-premises parking was not an issue for us so it's not figured into our ratings. There was a fine workout room and ample parking directly adjacent to the premises. The best way to describe this place is fantastic no-frills. New. Clean. Quiet. Very well-run.

This hotel was lovely. It's pretty new, so everything is clean and in excellent condition. It's located 5 minutes' walk from the center of downtown, and about the same distance in the opposite direction to the Old Town area. The street itself was under repair and a bit grungy, but I suspect this is a "turning around" neighborhood, and it still felt totally safe. The rooms are crisp and spare -- so spare, indeed, they lacked towel racks, which it could use. Staff very helpful.

We were pleasantly surprised by how attractive and comfortable this hotel was. It was definitely a great value for the money. Extras that come with the room is a computer and a flat screen TV. Loved the mod bathroom. It was a short walk to Old Montreal, Chinatown, metro stop (2 blocks) and other downtown areas. Friendly & helpful staff.

We really enjoyed our stay in the room. Everything was totally clean, including the beautifully tiled modern bathroom. The room had no odor whatsoever, which is great because my wife is picky about that. The bedding was very attractive, and the bed was quite comfortable. All rooms include internet access plus an actual modern computer, which we found very useful. The hotel is 2 to 4 blocks away from Old Montreal, and we had a perfect view from our wall-to-wall window of the fireworks coming from La Ronde, which is on the other side of the water beyond Old Montreal. Parking was $17 per day in their secured parking garage, but we were asked how tall our vehicle was before we were given a pass to park, so check first in case your large vehicle wouldn't fit. The size of the room would be the only reason I would hesitate in calling this a luxury hotel, because it wasn't expansive, but we found it to be quite adequate, with plenty of storage areas and a mini-fridge. Free breakfast downstairs was handy, with plenty of options, but not gourmet. Overall, a great value! I plan to stay there the next time I get to go to Montreal.

Agréablement surpris par l'équipement de la chambre : ordinateur fourni + internet gratuit, frigo, eau, café ou thé. Chambre agréable et grande salle d'eau. Par contre, il faut débarasser son plateau du petit déjeuner et comme ce n'est noté nulle part, on se fait rappeler à l'ordre ! Proximité du Vieux Montréal appréciée.
