Holiday Inn Express - Madison Square Garden - New York

The hotel is located directly at the Madison square garden and is surrounded by lot of restaurant and pubs.

Besides noisy neighbors, everything was really good! Good breakfast, good size comfortable room, and courteous front office manager Gary!

Let us drop off our luggage prior to check-in.... We checked in quite late. Did not have exact room we reserved so gave us two rooms instead. This actually worked out better for us. Two minor problems....Phone in my room didn't work. Were charged three times for one long distance phone call. This was taken care of by the friendly people at the front desk. All hotel employees we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was great. If and when I go back to NYC I will stay here.

The Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden was an exceptional place to stay. Neat room, clean hallways and a very helpful staff. It's basically 2 1/2 blocks from Penn Station, which is close to the trains. The neighborhood is not stellar, but what do you want for this price... They offered a very nice breakfast including an omlette, sausage and buns buffet style. We had our two daughters with us for their first trip to NYC. They loved the hotel. The only thing I disliked was there was really no security in the hotel lobby. Just keep your room door closed and locked and you'll be fine. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great service and perfect location. Walking distance to Penn Station and MSG. Nice breakfast.

We loved this Holiday Inn. They have a great free breakfast. It is in a great location. It is walking distance from time square and central park. The staff is amazing willing to help. Rooms are kept super clean. They kept coffee in the lobby always ready whenever you need it.

The hotel was very clean and in nice condition. The best feature is its close proximity to Madison Square; and it is affordable. It is also convenient to Javits Center if you don't mind the 8 block walk. The service personell was efficient and nice but not very welcoming.

my spouse works above madison square garden, and occasionally we have something to do in the city that is late at night, and getting home to jersey and back into work would be too much, so we stayed here. It is very close to MSG and the path. it is a little more than i would have liked to spend, but the staff is great, it's pretty clean and comfortable, they have a good selection at breakfast, and if you are a tourist it is a great locale.

We loved our room and the location was great! Had top floor of hotel, so it was very quiet -- no street noise! Only bad thing (and it wasn't really bad), was the overcrowded breakfast room - but the food was great! We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

You can't beat the location of this hotel-a short walk away from Penn Station. It is not luxury, but it is comfortable and the staff is very helpful. Great value for the money in NYC!

Staff was very nice about storing our luggage after we checked out. Air conditioning wasn't working when we got back late one night. Staff person said he would come up and fix it, but he never showed. Staff came up right away the next day when we called again about the sir conditioning.

Mostly was very satisfied.I noticed that The Towels in our room were just re-folded and hung back up. The Breakfast room could be a little bigger. People were just on top of each other trying to get breakfast and sit down to actually eat it.

Just what you would expect for the price. Not a luxury hotel but nice clean rooms, fairly quiet, great location, nice staff (great manager) and did I mention a free full buffet breakfast. The only downside were the small rooms & elevators, and the breakfast area was usually pretty crowded. No lounge or restaurant,but it is a Holiday Inn Express after all.

1. Clean room... a little on the small side. 2. Friendly and helpful staff. 3. Location very convenient and safe. 4. Free Wi-fi was a plus. All in all I would definitely recommend this holiday inn, and consider it for my future visits.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Excellent location, nearest sub way station 1 block away. Empire state building 10 min walk. Times Square 20 min walk or 2 stops on sub way. Only critism was breakfast was a bit chaotic. dinning area to small for number of people for breakfast.

We were very happy with this hotel. We traveled to NYC by train and needed a hotel near Penn Station and through Hotels.com we came across this one. It is very neat, clean and comfortable and although the room was small it was perfect considering we did not spend much time there except to sleep. Breakfast included in the price is a plus as well. Close to subway station but we walked the 15 minutes to Times Square area for the things we wanted to do there. We were in NYC to see the sights and what better way to see them than to walk. Staff at the hotel was more than accomidating and allowed us to check in well before check in time and kept our bags after checkout to allow us more time to enjoy the city. We will definately stay here again.

The room was more than satisfctory for the price paid and the breakfast buffet was great!

We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were very helpful, and the location was great. Room was a little small but thats to be expected in the city. Would definately go back.

We were seeing a concert at Madison Square Garden and this hotel was rally close to the venue. It was clean and comfortable for our one night stay and I would definately stay there again if I were going to MSG.

Hotel is in a great location. Just a short walk to the subway and MSG. We were able to get to all of the attractions in mere minutes. Hotel staff was very helpful during stay. Thanks Gary. Hallways were pretty nosiy with doors slaming at all hours.

Location in Manhattan is perfect for walking N-S-E-W. Penn Station only 4 blocks north and Times Square a 10-15 minute walk. Subway 3 minutes walk. Too many to list - good restaurants within walking distance of Hotel. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Only complaint - very limited closet space in room and no counter or shelf in the bathroom to lay out toiletries. For the money and location it was just fine.

Great hotel if you're on a budget but still want a good location in NYC

Well located for travel in and out of the city. Staff was efficient on both check in and check out. Breakfast was good though the room was very crowded.

Room was small but the location is perfect especially if you have to take an early morning train from Penn Station. Hotel fitness center--open 24 hours--was very nicely furnished with two good treadmills, a recumbent bike, a weight bench, and a flat screen TV. The breakfast buffet wasn't bad. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is conveniently located near Penn Station, Madison Square Gardens, the subway, etc. Like most New York hotels, the rooms are rather small, but it was very clean, comfortable and included a hot breakfast buffet. We've stayed there twice so far and would certainly come back again.

We stayed here for spring break and it was exactly what we expected based upon the previous reviews for this hotel. It was clean, quiet, and rooms reasonably sized (though if you have the chance to ask not to be put in one of the rooms surrounding the elevator shaft I would recommend it...). The staff were fantastic -- bringing up towels within minutes of when we noticed we were missing one and offering really great restaurant recommendations. This hotel was very conveniently located to the subway, Macy's, the theater district, and many of the drop off locations for bus services.

I think it could be a little less expensive considering it was a weeknight, the size of the room. It was good service and a great location for us.

The staff is courteous and accommodating. The entire hotel is clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was a plus. The location...2 blocks from Penn Station...is convenient with easy access to public transportation and taxis. I highly recommend the HIE-Madison Sq. Garden to anyone wanting to experience NYC on a limited budget.

The room was of reasonable size for NYC. Very clean, The breakfast was great, freash fruit, cereals and jucies. Enjoyable

This was a very nice hotel. It was not fancy, but very clean and the front desk was very nice. We got there early so we could not check in but they held our luggage so we could explore the city. It was a great distance from everything. You should bring your own shampoo, because the ones given are very small. If you want something fancy this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for a clean,pleasant,well placed hotel it is great. Overall a pleasant experience, I will be using them again when I go back.

This hotel was wonderful and comfortable but it was a little further than we expected from the sights of New York. It is really close to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, but it was a hike to get to Times Square. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff was really friendly. We would stay there again.
