theWit A Doubletree Hotel - Chicago

Ich war im Juni 2009 eine Nacht in diesem Hotel. Das hotel hatte gerade zwei Wochen davor eröffnet. Obwohl ich schon morgens um 10 ankam konnte ich problemlos einchecken und am anderen Tag auch nach dem Mittagessen auschecken. Zimmer mit Fenster bis zum Boden und Blick auf den Loop und Chicago River. Das zimmer war sehr groß und top ausgestattet. Sehr großes Bett, Chaiselong, riesen Fernseher und ein tolles, modernes Bad. Alles top sauber. Das Personal war sehr nett und Hilfsbereit.

My wife and I stayed here whle we were celebrating our anniversary. We had an absolutely fantastic experience, and we would recommend theWit to anyone. We will certainly be back ourselves. The hotel is in a great spot. It is within walking distance of Millenium Park and Michigan Ave. shopping. Navy Pier, the John Hancock building and the Sears (excuse me, Willis) Tower are all within a 15 or 20 minute walk. There are lots of nearby restaurants, from fast food to elegant dining. It is also within a block or two of an L stop, so public transportation around town or to the airports is an easy option. The customer service was fantastic. The front desk staff was great. I mentioned at check in that we were celebrating our anniversary. They gave us a room with a nice view. About 20 minutes after we got in to our room, there was a knock on the door. They had sent up a complimentary bottle of champagne for our celebration. That was a nice, expected surprise. We didn't need to use the concierge because we live in the suburbs and I work in Chicago, so we knew the types of things that were available and what we wanted to do. That, several times when we left the hotel, there were no customers at the concierge desk. Every time that happened, concierge asked whether there was anything he could do to help us. There was a doorman on the inside of the front door who was able to help start the revolving door, particularly for patrons with luggage. The doorman outside were constantly asking if we needed a cab or directions. Everyone we encountered provided excellent customer service. The room wasn't huge, but it was bigger than I thought it might be. In addition to the king bed, there was a couch, a large flatscreen tv, a cabinet that provided space to hang clothes and had 3 drawers. The wall unit that had the tv also extended into a desk area. From front desk and on, perfect. GREAT location to transportation and walking. Staff was exceptionally friendly (I mean everyone). New hotel so everthing was very clean, cleaning staff was also great.

We had a fantastic time. Definitely exceeded our expectations. Loved the room decor. Loved the atmosphere. The staff was extremely nice and courteous. We will be returning.

Spent one night at theWit. Loved the bar upstairs, very very cool, great room, we had a spa tub and spent alot of time in it. great location, close to everything, 5 minute drive to hancock building for dinner. In room coffee maker was good with wolfgang puck coffee, great hotel, we are staying again in september.

The people were really nice here and the location in the loop was great.

I got this room for my partner for her 25th birthday as a surprise. i checked in first to get the room together and i felt like i was in heaven. i researched several hotels and my eyes kept going back to The Wit. It's a beautiful hotel and very nice staff. there are a couple things i could complain about but why bother when the end result was i had a beautiful time. I couldn't get the thermostat to work correctly. first it was too hot then too cold.i think that was more operator error.lol.We had a riverview spatub room. the tub was awsome. we are two full figured woman and we were able to take a bath together and that in itself says a lot. my only complaints were when i checked in i was told they needed to hold $50 for incidentals... now if i had known this was the case i would have shopped a lot less. i understand if it's policy but it didnt set to well with me. also while veiwing the website i was supposed to get a chocolate chip cookie upon check in.. that didnt happen.. yes i know it's minute.. but i still wanted my cookie.. overly all i give it 2 thumbs up and a couple toes too..lol

We found the Wit to be everything we expected. It was a great place with friendly service. The Roof was great in the afternoon, but a bit too crowded in the evening. Our only complaint was the menu choices at State and Lake in the afternoon. We had a busy schedule while in the city and could not control the times we were available to eat, so the fact that the was virtually no menu choices for mid afternoon on Sunday was a bummer. Steve the doorman was our favorite, a real great guy! We give the Wit a thumbs up and will definately return.

The location was what brought us to this Hotel, it is a short hop to the riverwalk, which is what we wanted. It was a little pricey for us, as it was also Lollapalooza weekend. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Our room was absolutely wonderful, very quiet and clean. My only complaint is the "Roof" top lounge/restaurant. This is the most TACKY thing I've ever ran into, even to Vegas standards. Anytime after 4 PM you would run into, in the lobby and elevators, and lined up outside the hotel entrances, Hookers, Escorts, Cladly dressed young women, looking for, or with, very well-to-do gentlemen, not discreet in ANY way, shape or form. Absolutely Uncomfortable!!! For such a nice, upper class hotel, this destroys it!

Comfy bed and pillows, quiet room even though next to elevated train and on very busy street, great modern clean decor, roomy boudoir, nice city views.

This hotel was very pleasing in many ways. For being a fairly new hotel they have things working very smoothly. The staff were all very nice and very helpful. The room itself was well furnished and tasteful. The bed was comfy (and we all know how important that is!) and we found extra blankets in the wardrobe. The hotel's location was excellent as it is right smack in the middle of the Theatre District of Chicago and a block away (if that) from the red line and most of the other transits in Chicago. All in all this hotel was very nice to stay at and I would definately stay again if the need arises!

A bit pricy but a fantastic place to stay. Easy to get to off the blue line from OHara. Concierge was very helpful. Right downtown and close to everything important.

We loved everything about this hotel. Clean, New & Smelled nice everywhere! Great location, great service, great restaurants & Bar (check out the rooftop bar!) Would defiantly stay here again.

Great location. The train took me from Midway airport almost to the door of the hotel. The ROOF nightclub on the top floor seemed like the place to be during our stay. Breakfast was solid and reasonably priced for a big city. Short walk to miracle mile shopping. Cubs game only 15 minutes by train.

Absolutely did not expect this hotel to be as great as it was. Will come back here for sure!

Staff was always eager to help and most had a good sense of humor. This is really important when your lobby if full of people with people waiting outside to get to the rooftop bar/restaurant. Hotel guests are able to go to the rooftop at any time. All around great experience, beautiful room, clean and comfortable.

We stayed at The Wit for one great night in Chicago. This is honestly one of my top two stays in Chicago. What a phenomenal hotel! We loved every second of it!!! Location: The location is amazing. It is about a five minute walk from Millennium Park, about two to three blocks, so is great for those who are parking there or arriving on the South Shore Train. It's on State street right by the Chicago Theater and is an easy walk across the river to Michigan Ave. shopping or Rush St. excitement. We were there for a Cubs game and the red line to Wrigley is literally steps away from the front door. Great location. Service: The service we received could not have been more friendly and helpful. We arrived at 11:00 a.m. prepared to simply leave our bags - far earlier than the 3:00 check-in time - but they had rooms ready for us and checked us in immediately. Everyone was exceedingly friendly, from the doormen to the bellhops to the front desk staff. Not only were they friendly but also there seemed to be a fun-loving spirit and joy about what they were doing. And then there were the delicious warm cookies that the front desk handed out... The Room: Our room was on the 18th floor and was fabulous! We were on the west side of the hotel with views of downtown Chicago and the River. All the details in the room were great, very modern and fashionable details from the sink to the shower to the chaise lounge in the room. The bathroom was large with a terrific walk-in shower. The water pressure was nice, the shower was watertight, and the towels were HUGE and plush. The view from the room was great as were the artistic touches. The flat screen TV was large and premium channels in HD were provided. The air conditioning was comfortable and quiet. And the bed...the bed was amazing!! So comfortable, from the mattress to the sheets and pillows to the blankets. The whole room felt so luxurious for the price (which was $150 including the taxes.) theWit A Doubletree Hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms are gorgeous and the location was perfect. We will defiantely stay there again!

Stayed for a long weekend and loved it. Hotel had only been open 14 days and they had already worked most of the kinks out. It was clean and the location was perfect. The train stops right across the street and you are only 2 blocks from the mile. Rooftop lounge was spectacular- drinks in the evening a must.

The staff at this hotel is very accommodating and friendly. Our room was not ready right away but they gladly stored our luggage for us while we explored the city. The room was very comfortable with cushy beds and pillows. The rooftop lounge was cool, with reasonably priced drinks (at downtown Chicago standards). Overall, a nice hotel. I would stay there again.

This new Chicago gem is well worth the money you'll spend to stay there. The service is beyond compare & the location couldn't be better.

Very convenient location, cost of parking must be considered @ $45 per day. More for adults, but service was wonderful and rooms were great with some wonderful veiws. You can get anywhere in the city with city transit right there. Walking distance from all Theaters and Millenium Park.

Brand new quality hotel. Great value for the price. Excellent location to State Street shopping, and Chicago and Ford Theaters. Short walk or quick cab to Miracle Mile. Beautiful, state of the art contemporary rooms. Rooftop bar was the after hours hot spot with a young, professional crowd. Service was extremely friendly, but they had a few kinks to work out. Hotel had only been open three weeks. Assuming very minor bugs will be ironed out soon. Staff extremely professional and polite in each situation. We will certainly stay here again.

We would definitely return. The room had great upscale, contemporary design features, and was very comfortable. We stayed here on the second weekend that the hotel was open - a few small things bothered us. There was no printed information about room basics - how to use the touch screen phone features, whether local calls were free or would be charged to the room, no concierge so you had to call the front desk for everything. The weekend crowds for the Roof bar/lounge were fun and young - a bit crowded but that's what you'd expect for a new DT hotspot.

The location is great for the theater district in Chicago! We walked to the Cadilac Theater in less than 10 minutes. The hotel staff was excellant in assisting us with finding a resterant for dinner on our walk to the theater. The bed is very comfortable and the shower was wonderful. Just a great stay all the way around. Would recommend it to anyone!

Amazing new rooms, great staff, perfect location and one of the hottest rooftop bars in the city made this a great stay. Staff was super friendly and, with all train lines within two blocks, I was able to get just about anywhere I needed. The 42" HDTV, iPod dock and touch screen phone made my time in the room really comfortable and the free WiFi helped me get all my business done. Very similar to the W brand hotels but with its own unique charm the Wit is where I'll stay every time I head back to Chicago.

We felt welcome the moment we pulled up to the door. The hotel and resturant staff asked us over and over if everything was to our satisfaction. We attended a show at the Chicago Theater and the location of the Witt could not have been better.
