The beachfront Almond Beach Club & Spa in St. James, Barbados, is an ideal romantic getaway for singles and couples who want to experience outdoor adventure, pamper themselves in a spa, bask under the Caribbean sun, and frolic in the azure seas until their hearts are content. Limited to guests 16 and older, the popular adult destination offers an all-inclusive plan, including romantic vacations and honeymoon packages, that features Hobie Cat sailboats, snorkeling gear, windsurfers, pedal boats, kayaks, water-skiing, banana boating, fishing, tennis, and golf next door at the sister Almond Beach Village.
At the Almond Beach, a courtyard festooned with tall tropical plantings contains a two- level pool, eight-person spa tub and sunning lawn. In addition to a fitness center, guests can enjoy the spa's Thalassotherapy algae and seaweed baths, salt scrubs, body wraps, massages, hydrotherapy, facials, waxing, hair and nail care, saunas and steam rooms.

As for dining, the resort's Sunset Restaurant tempts tastebuds with buffet breakfasts; lunches of burgers, sandwiches, pasta, grilled fish and chicken; afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones, pastries; continental cuisine dinners; and Friday night barbecues. Enid's Restaurant adds to the temptations with Barbadian cuisine, starting with ackee and aaltfish and proceeding through fish and pickled pork soups, and concluding with Steamed Flying Fish with Green Banana Coo Coo; Pork Chops with Plantain-Rum Sauce; Seafood Curry; Pumpkinseed-Crusted Lamb Chops; and Beef in Rum-Pepper Sauce.

This Barbados resort features 345 air- conditioned guestrooms and 25 suites with Caribbean décor, rich splashes of oranges and greens, barefoot- friendly tile floors, ceiling fans, premium TV channels, coffeemakers, daily housekeeping and safes. Some suites feature jetted tubs.

The Almond Beach also features sunset sails, feed-the-turtles adventures and shopping tours. If vacationers seek outdoor adventures, diversions, and a quite escape amid sand and tropical climates, then the Almond Beach Club and Spa is an ideal getaway.
