Right on the beachfront, the Hotel Ter Kade is located in the town centre and boasts views of Ostend's busy harbour and the North Sea beyond. Simply decorated with floral fabrics and soft, neutral colour schemes, the modern guestrooms all have direct-dial telephones, televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. Private bathrooms are complete with hairdryers.
Typical Moules Frites and other seafood specialities feature on the menu alongside traditional French cuisine in the relaxed restaurant, where buffet breakfasts and midday and evening meals are accompanied by panoramic sea views. Guests can relax with a coffee or typical Belgian beer at the bar or order up room service, and consult knowledgeable, multilingual staff for local information and tour advice. There is a safe-deposit box for valuables at the front desk and those arriving by car can make use of pay parking nearby. Guests need only cross the street in order to find themselves on Ostend's sandy beach. The busy harbour where fishing boats dock alongside passenger ferries and cruise ships, is just a few hundred metres away. Strolling 100 metres in the opposite direction, visitors will find central Ostend's shops, bars and restaurants. Brussels airport is around 120 kilometres (75 kilometres) away. The railway station can be found on the basement level, below the terminal building. From here trains to Ostend take around two hours (with one or two connections).
