Location. The Bahia Pez Vela Resort is located in El Ocotal, Costa Rica, on a secluded ebony-sand beach on the Gulf of Papagayo. The village of Playas del Coco offers deep-sea fishing charters, snorkeling and scuba diving excursions, restaurants, shops, nightlife and casinos three kilometers from the resort. Congo Trail Canopy Tours through the rain forest are 10 kilometers away. Features. This gated community features a private beach on a crescent-shaped cove. The resort offers an infinity-edge pool overlooking the ocean, a children's wading pool and salsa lessons. Live music is featured on Sundays. Located next to the beachfront pool, the Picante Restaurant & Bar features typical Costa Rica, Mexican and North American style cuisine. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Complimentary coffee is offered in the lobby. Resort amenities include a concierge desk, business services, tour assistance, banquet facilities and laundry services. Spa services are also available at the resort. Pets are not allowed at the property.
Guestrooms. Two-story, three-bedroom villas offer two-and-one-half bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens. Furnished second-floor balconies off the master bedrooms and first-floor terraces feature ocean views. All villas offer dining areas and living rooms with cable television and DVD players. Wireless Internet access is complimentary. Massages are available in the villas for a fee.

Turn right out of the airport at the sign to Coco Beach Drive, and continue for 10 km. Turn right at sign to Coco Beach Drive, and continue for 14.4 km to Coco Beach. Continue to signs in Coco Beach to Bahia Pez Vela/Casa Blanca/Picante Restaurant, and turn left. Drive approximately three kilometers to Ocotal Beach. Turn left into gate marked Ocotal Resort (there will be a sign for Bahia Pez Vela Resort just before turning left). Drive approximately one km to the Bahia Pez Vela Resort. There will be another gate to enter the resort. The guest's name will be at the office to ensure access.
