Beschreibung

Location. The Ringhotel Residenz is located in the centre of Karlsruhe, Germany, opposite the city park and zoo, and two kilometres from Karlsruhe Castle. Karlsruhe Central station is next door to the hotel.
Hotel Features. Built in 1919, this eight- storey listed property has a shady portico extending around the bottom floor and many period features. Amenities include a bar, a room service menu, a lobby television, and complimentary newspapers. Safe-deposit boxes are located at the 24-hour front desk where staff can assist with travel and tourist queries and arrange local tours. For guests arriving by car garage parking is also available (surcharge).

A complimentary buffet breakfast, with hot and cold dishes, is served each morning at the Ketterer restaurant which has a vaulted ceiling and warm, intimate lighting. Lunch and dinner menus feature regional and international dishes and an extensive wine list. Drinks, snacks, and ice cream are also offered in the ground-floor bistro and on the garden terrace.

Business amenities include seven conference rooms with audio-visual equipment, wireless Internet access, and seating for 120.

Complimentary bicycle hire is offered on site, and golf, swimming and tennis are among activities available nearby.

Guestrooms. The 103 guestrooms have individual decor with contemporary furniture. All are equipped with cable television, direct-dial telephones, wireless Internet access, and minibars. Tiled bathrooms have handheld showers and hair dryers. Cribs, wake-up calls and smoking rooms are all available on request.

Expert Tip. Rebuilt after World War II, Karlsruhe Castle houses a local history museum. During the summer, a miniature steam train runs through the castle gardens.

From Stuttgart Airport (STR):
Distance to Ringhotel Residenz is 80 kilometres, approximately 55 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The S-Bahn commuter trains run between Terminal One and Stuttgart's central train station (Hauptbahnhof). Trains S-2 and S-3 leave every 10-20 minutes for the city centre. The journey time is about 25 minutes, and the fare is 3 EUR. From Stuttgart, trains run to Karlsruhe. Taxis wait in front of terminals One and Three, and cost around 115 EUR to Ringhotel Residenz. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Karlsruhe has an excellent public transportation system with buses and trams running throughout the city. Day passes can be purchased to cover individuals or multiple passengers.

Driving directions. From the airport join the A8 highway in the direction of Karlsruhe/Singen/Heilbronn.
Continue for approximately 75 kilometres, then take Exit 45 in the direction of KA-Mitte/Karlsruhe/Landau.
After two kilometres turn onto the L561 to Karlsruhe.
Follow signs towards Stadtgarten-Zoo/Hauptbahnhof.
