Location. The Elbresidenz Birkwitz is an apartment hotel located in the Elbe Valley, Germany, three kilometres from Pirna and 18 kilometres from Dresden city centre. Hotel Features. Surrounded by lush greenery, the hotel overlooks the River Elbe and the Saxon countryside. Staff operate the front desk during limited hours and can assist with local tours and excursions. Room service is also available during limited hours. There is a library on site and wireless Internet access is available in public areas (surcharge). Secure parking is complimentary.
The Elbresidenz Birkwitz does not have its own restaurant although there are various eating establishments in the vicinity. Breakfast services are available at the hotel for a surcharge.
There are opportunities for bird watching on site. Bicycles are available to hire nearby for exploring the surrounding area. Other nearby activities include mountain biking, fishing, and motor boating.
Guestrooms. The Elbresidenz Birkwitz houses eight self-contained apartments and one suite, arranged over nine floors (no lift). From Dresden Airport (DRS): Distance to the Elbresidenz Birkwitz is 18 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Taxis are available at the airport. The airport also has an underground railway station with shuttle trains to the city centre. The S-Bahn station is located on the terminal building's lower level. S-Bahn line S2 runs to Pirna railway station on weekdays only, and the journey time is approximately 50 minutes.
Getting around. A car is recommended for exploring the surrounding area. Alternatively, trains and buses connect towns and cities throughout the region. Dresden operates an integrated, comprehensive public transport system of suburban trains, trams, and buses. Ferries run along the river Elbe, and a funicular railway runs between Loschwitz, the Weisser Hirsch, and Oberloschwitz.
