Location.Residence Les Marquises is a traditional chalet-style residence with whitewashed walls and wood shutters. It is situated three kilometres from Lourdes and 10 kilometres from the Argelès-Gazost valley. Lourdes Airport is 15 kilometres from the residence, around 15 minutes by car. Hotel Features.Residence Les Marquises has a heated outdoor pool overlooking the Pyrenees Mountains, and hot and cold drinks are available in the bar. Staff at the front desk can organise treks and tours around the local area, and there is also complimentary parking available for those arriving by car.
Residence Les Marquises's restaurant, Les Balcons d'Aspin, serves a variety of regional dishes.
Lourdes Hautacam ski resort is 25 kilometres away and features 14 ski runs covering a total distance of 26 kilometres.
Guestrooms. The 99 guestrooms are located in five two- and three-storey buildings. All include sofabeds, kitchenettes with microwaves, refrigerators and coffee and tea making facilities, bathrooms, and cable television.
Expert Tip. Visions of the Virgin Mary are said to have appeared in the Grotte de Massabielle in Lourdes, three kilometres from the hotel. The town is now a shrine for pilgrims who immerse themselves in the grotto's healing pools. Between Palm Sunday and mid-October, torchlight processions are held nightly from 8.45 pm from the grotto: a spectacular sight beneath the shadow of the snow-capped Pyrenees.
Getting there. The best way to get to the hotel is by taxi, which can be found outside the airport. There are three trains daily from Paris' Gare d'Austerlitz to Lourdes, as well as trains from larger cities around France and buses from regional towns. The train station is four kilometres from the hotel, a 10-minute drive.
Driving directions.From Lourdes Airport take the N21 in the direction of Lourdes and follow signs to Argelès-Gazost. Take the exit for Aspin en Lavedan on the right, and the residence is on the left.
