The Hilton Birmingham Metropole is a modern property adjacent to the National Exhibition Centre, one mile from the airport and eight miles from Birmingham city centre. The 794 air-conditioned guestrooms are decorated in light, warm tones of cream and brown and include contemporary light-wood furnishings, red upholstery and bold checked fabrics. In-room amenities include cable TV with pay movies, Sony PlayStations, telephones, high- speed Internet connections, tea and coffee-making facilities and bathrooms with hair dryers and complimentary toiletries.
Guests can take a dip first thing in the morning in the glass-roofed indoor heated pool, or visit the health club, which offers a modern gymnasium, sauna, spa tub and solarium. The lounge bar is open 24 hours a day, and diners have a choice of a traditional-style English pub serving Tex-Mex favourites, an Italian fine-dining restaurant and a buffet-style carvery. Room service is also available around the clock. Discounted tickets to Cadbury World and Warwick Castle are available from reception and multilingual staff can offer advice on the local area. Business guests can make use of 32 meeting rooms able to accommodate up to 2,000 delegates, and a business centre offering fax, secretarial and typing services, and wireless Internet access. Guests arriving by car will find parking facilities available on site (surcharge). Birmingham city centre, eight miles away, offers numerous bars and restaurants, plus plenty of opportunities for shopping in the Bullring mall and the striking, futuristic Selfridges store. Kids will enjoy a fun and educational day at the Sea Life Centre or the Millennium Point IMAX cinema and science centre, also within eight miles of the hotel. Birmingham International Airport is one mile away, with an approximate driving time of ten minutes.

Anfahrt

It is possible to walk from the airport to the hotel. Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals hall and a taxi will cost approximately 5 GBP. The NEC site is connected to Birmingham International Station by a covered bridge. Local bus services operate between the NEC and the city centre.
Driving directions: From the airport, take the A45 towards Coventry, take the first exit and follow signs for NEC/Hotel. From London, take the M40 then M42 and exit at junction 6.

Was ok, after I asked for a remodelled room

At first I got a real dingy room which had not been remodelled. I asked for a new one - only got a smoking room, though. The room was good, though. Overall, the hotel was overpriced, the food not all that great. But hey, its the UK :D
