Beschreibung

Location. The Manor House Hotel and Golf Club is located by the medieval village of Castle Combe, England, six miles from Chippenham and 14 miles from the spa town of Bath.
Hotel Features. Housed in a 14th-century stone building, the Manor House Hotel is surrounded by 365 acres of woodland, parkland, and ornamental gardens. A fitness room is also available. The stone-clad lobby features a fireplace and a 24-hour front desk offering around-the-clock room service. Wireless Internet access is offered in public areas. Other amenities include dry cleaning and laundry services, and complimentary parking.

The Bybrook restaurant at the Manor House features stained glass windows with woodland views, and offers a new British menu based on seasonal local produce. Dishes include Confit Belly and Braised Cheek of Old Spot Pork. The oak-panelled Full Glass Bar offers armchairs, cocktails, and a range of spirits.

The Manor House has five traditionally decorated meeting and conference rooms, which are able to accommodate up to 100 delegates.

The 18-hole golf course in the grounds was designed by Peter Alliss, and features a waterfall at the 18th hole. The hotel also offers a croquet lawn, tennis courts, a giant Scalextric, and facilities for archery and clay shooting.

Guestrooms. The 48 guestrooms at the Manor House Hotel are individually designed in traditional style, characterised by rich colours and antique, dark-wood furniture. All rooms are equipped with satellite television, direct-dial telephones, dial-up Internet ports, and tea and coffee facilities. Private bathrooms offer bathrobes, slippers, televisions, telephones, and complimentary designer toiletries.

Expert Tip. The Cotswold stone houses of Castle Combe encircle the village's 14th-century market cross. Originally based around a British hill fort, the village was occupied by the Romans and later the Normans, who built the castle.

From Bristol Airport (BRS):
Distance to the Manor House Hotel is 30 miles, approximately 45 minutes' drive.

Getting there. A coach service, the Bristol International Flyer, runs between the airport and Bristol Temple Meads train station. Journeys take about 30 minutes and coaches depart every 30 minutes. Services operate daily, excluding Christmas and Boxing Day, from 5.30 a.m.- 10.30 p.m. Single adult tickets cost 5 GBP. From Bristol, train services run to Chippenham. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Castle Combe is compact and easily explored on foot. From Chippenham, trains run to major destinations across England. The M4 motorway is two miles from the hotel.

Driving directions. From airport, take the M4 motorway and follow signs for London and Bristol.
Leave the M4 at Junction 18, following signs for Bath and Stroud.
At the Tormarton Interchange roundabout, take the first exit onto the A46 Bath Road, signposted Stroud.
At the traffic lights by the Cross Hands Hotel, turn right onto the B4040 towards Malmesbury.
On entering Acton Turville, bear right onto the B4039 towards Chippenham.
Bear left onto the B4039 when entering Burton.
Turn right into Dunns Lane, signposted Castle Combe.
Enter Castle Combe and continue through the village to the humpback bridge.
Turn right into the Manor House's drive (the gates will open automatically).
