Beschreibung

Location. Hotel Number Ten is located in Edinburgh, Scotland, in a listed building in the Georgian New Town district, 500 metres from the National Gallery of Scotland, and half a mile from Edinburgh castle. Edinburgh Airport is seven miles away.
Hotel Features. This boutique hotel is set in a refurbished Grade-A listed town house, with sea views to the rear. Decor is Oriental-themed, featuring terracotta soldiers and crystal chandeliers. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can advise on local sightseeing and the services of a valet and porter are available. Wireless Internet access is available throughout, and complimentary newspapers are offered in the lobby.

Sleekly decorated in black and gold, Hotel Number Ten's onsite restaurant, Bacchus, offers dishes based on fresh, locally sourced produce. The Mozart Bar has a full licence and the night porter can serve drinks after hours. A complimentary breakfast is offered each morning.

Guests have discounted access to the Leisure Club at the Caledonian Hotel on Princes Street, with its large swimming pool, gym and beauty treatments. The 18- hole Murrayfield golf course is 2.5 miles away.

Guestrooms. The 16 guestrooms at Hotel Number Ten have hardwood flooring throughout, lacquered Chinese furniture and Nobilis wall coverings. Beds have satin-striped cotton linen and free-range goosedown duvets. The floor-to-ceiling slate-tiled bathrooms feature mood lighting, Philippe Starck utilities and Hansgrohe fittings. Amenities include satellite television, DVD players, CD players, direct-dial phones, wireless Internet access, safes, and tea and coffee facilities.

Expert Tip. The Royal Botanic Gardens, 300 metres from the hotel, contain six per cent of the known plant species in the world, and special collections include the Orchid House and the Chinese Hillside. From the hill in the centre of the gardens, there is a panoramic view of Edinburgh's Old Town.

From Edinburgh Airport (EDI):
Distance to Hotel Number Ten is 7 miles, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. From the airport, Airlink 100 operates express bus services to the city centre. Buses run every 10 minutes and depart from the bus station next to the terminal. An open-return pass costs 5 GBP. The N22 night bus runs between midnight and 4 a.m. Taxis wait at a rank next to the terminal, and cost approximately 16 GBP to the hotel, depending on traffic and time of day. Waverley, Edinburgh's main railway station, is half a mile from the hotel and a taxi to the hotel costs approximately 7 GBP. All prices are subject to change.

Getting around. Edinburgh city centre is best explored in foot and driving is not recommended for visitors because of the complex one-way systems. The city is served by a good bus network and there are hop- on, hop-off stops for city bus tours throughout central Edinburgh. Black cabs can be hailed in the streets. Regular trains leave Waverley train station for Glasgow and other major destinations throughout Scotland and England

Driving directions. From Edinburgh Airport, follow signs towards the city centre.
As soon as you arrive on Princes Street and see the castle on your right, turn left into Charlotte Square.
At bottom turn right onto Queen Street and then take first left and first left again onto Heriot Row.
Turn right onto India Street and Gloucester Place is at the bottom where the hotel is found.
