Location. The Legacy Springfield Hotel is located one mile from central Gateshead, England, 2.5 miles from nearby Newcastle city and five miles from Newcastle International Airport (NCL).
Hotel Features. The two-storey Legacy Springfield Hotel is decked out in modern simple colours and design.

Springers Bar and Lounge serves up hot, cold and alcoholic beverages throughout the day, as well as cakes, sandwiches and casual dinners. For a smarter alternative, the in-house Paco Paulo Restaurant has a menu of Mediterranean dishes Monday to Thursday evenings. Complimentary breakfast is available.

The Legacy Springfield Hotel's conference centre has four large and two smaller meeting rooms. The hotel can provide wireless Internet access and secretarial services.

There is a golf club and municipal swimming pool close to the Legacy Springfield Hotel, and a park offers a children's playground within 100 yards of the hotel.

Guestrooms. The Springfield Hotel's 61 spacious guestrooms are decorated with simple modern designs. All offer satellite television, direct-dial phones, Internet connections, coffee and tea-making facilities, hair dryers and laundry services.

Expert Tip. St Mary's Church, which hosts the Gateshead Quays visitor centre, provides a commanding panoramic view over both quaysides. The Centre for Life in Times Square, Newcastle, is an award- winning science centre with simulator rides and a live science show to keep the children entertained.

From Newcastle International Airport (NCL):
Distance to Legacy Springfield Hotel is 5 miles, approximately 15 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The metro connects the airport with Newcastle's central train station, Sunderland and Gateshead. Trains depart every 7 minutes and the fare is 2 GBP for a single journey. Taxis are available outside the terminal, and cost about 15 GBP-16 GBP to the city centre and hotel. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. An efficient and inexpensive metro system serves Newcastle, North and South Tyneside, Gateshead, and Sunderland. Bus services operate within the city centre, and ferries run every 30 minutes to North and South Shields.

Driving directions. From the airport join the A1.
Take the turn-off at the Angel of the North.
Take the next turn-off for the A167 (Gateshead South).
The Legacy Springfield Hotel is along that road on the right-hand side.
