The Swallow Hotels Waterside Inn is a purpose built hotel set in extensive gardens on the banks of the estuary of the River Ugie, 15 miles from the famous Cruden Bay Golf Club. The 105 guestrooms feature cream walls, stone- coloured fabrics and modern light wood furniture. All guestrooms include satellite television, direct-dial phones, tea and coffee making facilities, clock radios, trouser presses, Internet connections, and bathrooms with hair dryers. Exercise enthusiasts can work out in the modern fitness centre or swim laps in the indoor pool, before unwinding in the sauna, steam room or jetted tub. In the health and beauty suite, guests will find an extensive list of pampering treatments and massages to choose from. At Ogilvies Restaurant dishes are created by an award- winning chef, using fresh local produce including seafood. The restaurant has river views. Lighter meals are on the menu at the more informal Muse Lounge Bar. Business travellers can meet in fully equipped conference rooms and go online with high-speed Internet. All guests benefit from free parking. Nearby attractions include the impressive ruins of Slains Castle, perched on a cliff overlooking the sea 15 miles away, and the whisky tours and tastings at the Speyside Distillery, 40 miles away. Aberdeen Airport is 40 miles from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 60 minutes.
