The Hilton York is a smart, contemporary hotel situated in the centre of York, behind Clifford's Tower and two blocks from the ancient city wall. This contemporary property features 130 guestrooms over four floors. All include satellite television with pay movies, Sony PlayStations, Internet connections, minibars and tea and coffee making facilities. Bathrooms come with baths and showers, telephones and hair dryers.
After breakfast, guests can relax in the hotel lobby with a coffee and take advantage of wireless Internet to plan sightseeing activities. Room service is available around the clock and the hotel lounge is also open 24-hours. Guests can take in the views of York's 13th century keep, Clifford's Tower from the main restaurant, which serves classic English dishes and has a wine list boasting over 100 types of wine and champagne. Alternatively, Henry J Beans is an American Bar and Grill serving Tex Mex specialities and an extensive range of cocktails, and has live DJ music on Friday and Saturday evenings. There are seven air-conditioned meeting rooms catering for up to 150 people and the hotel offers secretarial, copying and fax services. Other amenities include a florist, newsstand and dry cleaning services. Guests can ask the concierge for advice on local attractions and the hotel is in a prime location to explore the area, with the historic city centre, Jorvik Viking Centre and the Castle Museum all just one block away. Within two blocks guests can visit The Shambles, a famous cobbled street, the ancient city wall and York Cathedral. Leeds Bradford Airport is 30 miles away with an approximate driving time of 45 minutes.

Anfahrt

A taxi from the airport to the hotel should cost approximately GBP 35. The LBA Airlink 757 shuttle bus goes from the airport, every half hour, to Leeds city centre bus and rail stations. From here a train or coach can be caught to York. York train station is half a mile from the hotel. The historic city centre of York is best explored on foot.
Driving directions: From A64, North & South - Take the A19 (signposted city centre/Selby) following all signs for city centre for approx 2 miles. At the junction with the Mecca building (on the left) take the middle lane past the city walls on the right. Move into the right- hand lane and bear right onto Tower Street at the roundabout with traffic lights. The hotel is straight ahead behind Clifford's Tower.
