Galway Bay Hotel is situated on the Salthill Promenade overlooking Ireland's beautiful Galway Bay, two miles from Galway city centre and nine miles from the airport. The 153 guestrooms are located on three floors and feature contemporary decor in warm earth tones with wood furnishings and hand-made mattresses. Amenities include cable television with pay movies, direct-dial phones with voicemail, complimentary wireless Internet access, complimentary newspapers, coffee and tea-making facilities, desks and trouser presses. Bathrooms have hair dryers and complimentary toiletries. Hypo-allergenic bedding is available on request.
Dining options include the light and tranquil Lobster Pot Restaurant, which boasts panoramic views of the Bay. Diners are offered a variety of Irish and international cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh fish and lobsters from the tank, accompanied by an extensive wine list. After dinner guests can retire to the An Scadan Caoc (Herring Choker) pub and enjoy a few pints of Guinness and a lively atmosphere, accompanied by live Irish music at weekends. Guests can retire to the 19th-century-style library featuring leather chairs, head for the conservatory which leads upstairs to a roof terrace overlooking the Bay, and relax in the Calmer Water's Health and Beauty Salon with a range of beauty and holistic treatments, as well as an indoor pool, steam room, sauna and gym. The hotel also runs the Penguin Kids Activity Camp which provides a full activity programme for children between 4-12 years during school holidays and Bank Holiday weekends (surcharge). Business guests can benefit from fully equipped conference and meeting rooms, and there is secure underground parking for those arriving by car. There is plenty to see and do in the local area, including the Galway Atlantaquaria Aquarium, 500 metres away, and the Corrib Princess Boat Cruises, three kilometres from the hotel. Galway Carnmore Airport is 15 kilometres distance, around 20 minutes by car.

Anfahrt

A daily bus service is available between the airport and Galway city centre, taking about 15 minutes. Taxis are also available from the airport and fares to the hotel cost around 15-20 EUR. The nearest train station is Ceannt Station, which is 3 kilometres (2 miles) from the hotel. The easiest way to explore Galway and the surrounding countryside, as well as the west coast scenery, is to hire a car.
Driving directions: From the airport bear left onto Carnmore West. Turn left onto the R339 and at Lynch Roundabout take the third exit onto the N6. At Galway take the second exit at Morris roundabout onto the N6. At Font roundabout take the first exit onto Tuam Road R336. At Joyce roundabout take the second exit onto Bothermore R336. Turn right onto Eyre Square R336, and turn left onto Victoria Place R336 for Salthill. At the traffic lights continue onto Dock Road, bear left onto Father Griffin Road and cross Wolfe Tone Bridge. At the traffic lights turn right on to Father Griffin Avenue R337. Turn left onto Lower Salthill and continue until the Promenade. The hotel is on the right.
