Location. The palatial Westin Excelsior hotel in central Florence, Italy, is located on the banks of the Arno River, within one kilometre of the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio bridge, Santa Croce church and the Uffizi gallery. Florence Vespucci Airport (FLR) is 10 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Set in a renovated 12th- century mansion, The Westin Excelsior hotel has a grand lobby featuring marble pillars and floors, stone staircase and stained-glass windows. Neo-classical frescoes and Asian rugs adorn the lobby, and the hotel has views of the Ponte Vecchio and surrounding Tuscan countryside.

ORVM Bar is an informal yet smart venue, with black-and-white marble floors, wooden tables and leather-covered walls and chairs. ORVM restaurant serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine made from vice seasonal ingredients.

The Westin Excelsior hotel offers five flexible conference rooms, business centre and wireless Internet access (surcharge).

The hotel has a hi-tech fitness Centre and offers massages.

Guestrooms. Red velvet drapes, antique furniture and Grecian-urn art prints decorate The Westin Excelsior's 171 climate-controlled guestrooms. From Florence Vespucci Airport (FLR):
Distance to Westin Excelsior hotel is 10 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Taxis into the city centre cost approximately 15 EUR-16 EUR, and the journey time is 15 minutes. An airport bus departs for Florence's Santa Maria Novella Station every 30 minutes. Single tickets cost 6 EUR. Terravision coaches travel to central Florence and Pisa Airport. Tickets cost 12 EUR, and the price includes a one-day pass for Florence's city buses. Guests can then take a taxi to the hotel. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The Westin Excelsior is located on the banks of the Arno River in central Florence. Florence is compact and easily explored on foot. There are traffic restrictions in the city centre, and parking is expensive. Bright orange buses operate throughout the city centre. Tickets are available at vending machines or from tobacconists. Tickets are sold based on length of time, and are available for one, two or 24 hours. There is a taxi rank in front of Santa Maria Novella Station. Valet parking is available onsite (surcharge) and the hotel has its own limousine service (surcharge).

Driving directions. From Florence Vespucci Airport (FLR):
From the airport, follow the signs for the city centre until you reach the Arno River.
Next, follow signs for the Ponte Vecchio.
Carry on along Lungarno Vespucci until you arrive at Piazza Ognissanti and the Westin Excelsior hotel.
