A three-floor terracotta Tuscan townhouse hotel in the centre of historic Lucca, opposite the 18th-century theatre of the Piazza del Giglio. Hotel Universo houses 56 guestrooms decorated with floral patterns and pastel shades, which offer views of the cathedral, tree-lined Piazza Napoleone or Piazza del Giglio. All include television sets, direct-dial telephones, minibars, and bathrooms with shower/tub combinations, bidets and complimentary toiletries.
Upon waking, guests can help themselves to a complimentary newspaper while enjoying their buffet breakfast. In the evening, guests can unwind in the hotel's bar, which offers a selection of wines, beers and spirits. Fully renovated with classical-style decor, gold fixtures and a bold colour scheme, the Ristorante del Teatro offers refined intimate dining and serves house specialities made from local produce and a range of fish dishes. The concierge and staff on the 24-hour front desk are on hand to offer assistance, provide safe storage of guests' valuables, or arrange transfer to and from the airport. The hotel is sited in Lucca's historic town centre, opposite the 18th-century theatre on Piazza del Giglio. The Renaissance arcades of Saint Michael's Square and the 13th-century cathedral of Saint Martin can both be found within 100 metres. Less than a kilometre from the hotel is the Square of the Amphitheatre, which shows only the faintest traces of once having housed a Roman auditorium. Pisa Airport is 20 kilometres away and can be reached by car in approximately 25 minutes.

Anfahrt

Pisa airport has its own train station with direct trains to Pisa central station, Florence, Lucca and beyond. The CPT number 3 bus connects the airport with Pisa city centre.
Driving directions: From the airport, take the A11 motorway towards Florence and take the Lucca exit. Follow signs for the city centre. Enter through the gate Porta san Pietro, turn right (follow the city walls) then turn left at the end of the second block in Corso Garibaldi. Go straight on and turn right into via San Girolamo.
