Location. The Grand Hotel Federico II is located in the centre of Palermo, on the island of Sicily, Italy, 30 metres from the Via Roma thoroughfare. Palermo Cathedral is 800 metres away, and the beaches of Mondello are at an eight-kilometre distance. The nearest train station is 1.5 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. Housed in restored palazzo, the Grand Hotel Federico II opens to bright interiors characterised by antique furnishings, plush sofas, and richly patterned rugs. The hotel extends to a lounge area and roof terrace, offers wireless Internet, and houses a 24-hour multilingual concierge service. Those arriving by car will find both complimentary outdoor parking and valet parking (surcharge) available. Further amenities include laundry facilities and a 24- hour room service menu.

Guests of the Grand Hotel Federico II can enjoy regional and international dishes both in the elegant Constanza restaurant, with its rich green and yellow fabrics, and in the Caesar, occupying former royal apartments on the fifth floor. The hotel also houses a traditional wood-panelled bar, and offers a complimentary buffet breakfast.

Meeting spaces are available onsite, and the hotel has a business centre.

Guestrooms. The 60 air-conditioned guestrooms extend to marble bathrooms, and include bathrobes, hair dryers and designer toiletries. Expert Tip. Cefalu, 60 kilometres from the hotel, is a picturesque seaside town characterised by winding medieval streets overlooking the rocky coastline. Highlights include the historic Norman cathedral with its fine cloisters and well-preserved Byzantine mosaics, and the Osteria Magno, the remains of a 13th-century palace.

Getting there. The easiest way to reach the hotel from the airport is by hire car or taxi, costing approximately 50 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Palermo city centre is compact and best explored on foot. The city and the surrounding areas are served by a network of buses. A car is recommended for exploring more of Sicily.

Driving directions. From the airport, follow the A29 to Palermo until the Piazzale Kennedy.
Follow signs for the city centre along Via Leonardo Da Vinci down to Viale Della Liberta.
The hotel is 30 metres from Via Roma, the city's main shopping thoroughfare.
