Location.The Marcella Royal Hotel is located in Rome, Italy, 500 metres from Via Veneto, two kilometres from the Trevi Fountain, and three kilometres from the Colosseum. Rome's main railway station is 1.5 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. This classic 19th century property is situated in a quiet street, within walking distance of the shops and local historic sites. The hotel's roof terrace and Panorama Room offer unspoilt views over Rome. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can provide information on cultural and tourist activities, and arrange private guided tours of the city.

A complimentary breakfast buffet is available in the Panorama Room of Marcella Royal, and can also be enjoyed al fresco, on the roof terrace. Snacks are available throughout the day. In the evening, light dinners are served in candlelight and accompanied by live piano music.

Guestrooms. All 86 guestrooms have richly patterned wallpaper, with matching drapes and sumptuous cushions, and antique-style furniture. The bathrooms have showers or bathtubs, and bidets; bathrobes and hair dryers are provided. The guestrooms are equipped with satellite television and direct-dial phones. Wireless Internet access is available at a surcharge. Further amenities include minibars and electronic safes.

Expert Tip. Trevi Fountain, famously immortalised by Anita Ekburg's splashing performance in 'La Dolce Vita', has varying accounts on what happens if coins are thrown in for luck. Historically, it means a return to Rome, but some believe that two coins will bring marriage, and three, divorce.

From Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO):
Distance to Hotel Marcella Royal is 35 kilometres, approximately 45 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The Leonardo Express runs between the airport and the Termini train station in the city centre every 30 minutes. The journey time is about 35 minutes and single tickets cost 9.50 EUR. The Terravision shuttle bus runs between the airport and Termini station. Taxis to the city centre cost about 60 EUR, and taking a metered licensed taxi is advised. From Termini railway station, it is possible to walk to the hotel or take a taxi. The hotel arranges airport transfer at a surcharge. A taxi fare from Rome Fiumicino Airport to the hotel costs 55 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Rome's historic city centre is easy to explore on foot, as many attractions are located close together. The city has an efficient public transport system, including trams, buses, suburban trains, and metro (underground). Tickets can be purchased from tobacconists and ATAC ticket machines, and should be bought prior to boarding. Single tickets cost 1 EUR, and are valid for 75 minutes, covering one metro trip and unlimited bus travel. Driving in the city centre is not advised for visitors.
