Location. The Hotel Centrale is located in Syracuse, Italy, within 500 metres of the historical centre of Ortigia island and one kilometre from the Neapolis archaeological site.
Hotel Features. Completely renovated in 2006, the Hotel Centrale features a garden, a sun terrace and a panoramic lift. During the midday heat, guests can retreat to the reading room and browse a complimentary newspaper. The reception desk is open 24 hours.

The Hotel Centrale offers a complimentary continental breakfast buffet each morning.

Wireless Internet access is available at the hotel.

Guided tours can be booked at a surcharge to Catania, Taormina, Mount Etna and other destinations in Sicily.

Guestrooms. All 24 air-conditioned guestrooms have balconies and are brightly decorated with modern art. All rooms are equipped with desks, multi-line phones, satellite television, and minibars. Internet access is complimentary.

Expert Tip. The Fountain of Arethusa is a sunken pond and, according to Greek mythology, the watery reincarnation of the nymph Arethusa. It is also a popular spot for gatherings due to the numerous outdoor cafes nearby.

From Catania Fontanorossa Airport (CTA):
Distance to Hotel Centrale is 55 kilometres, approximately 60 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Buses run directly to Syracuse from the airport. Tickets are available from a booth in front of the terminal building, and must be validated when boarding. Taxis cost around 70 EUR to Syracuse. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. An inexpensive rail network links Sicily's larger towns, including Palermo, Messina, Catania, Taormina, and Syracuse. Buses run throughout the towns and many of the smaller villages. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas.
