Location. The Hotel Royal is located in Stresa, Italy, 100 metres from the crystal blue waters of Lake Maggiore, and 600 metres from the main train station. Villa Pallavicino's gardens and zoological park are one kilometre from the hotel.
Hotel Features. This family-run hotel is set in converted white villa, surrounded by floral gardens with deckchairs, sunloungers, and parasols, with an outdoor swimming pool. There is a 24-hour front desk where multilingual staff can assist in booking excursions, and wireless Internet access is available in public areas, including the neoclassical Louis XIV sitting room with coffee tables and potted plants. Parking is complimentary.

Hotel Royal's restaurant, in strawberry-and-cream tones, serves international dishes and offers a complimentary buffet breakfast. In fine weather, meals can be taken on the open-air terrace, and the terrace bar overlooks the hotel gardens and swimming pool.

Guestrooms. Decorated in pastel shades, the 70 air-conditioned guestrooms have wooden floors. All extend to balconies with white iron seating offering lake or garden views. From Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP):
Distance to Hotel Royal is 45 kilometres, approximately 40 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The Alibus airport shuttle service departs to Stresa from bus stop no. 12 outside Terminal One, stopping at Hotel Royal. Single fares are approximately 8 EUR. Advance booking is necessary. Price is subject to change.

Getting around. Stresa is a small town and is easily accessible on foot. Ferry services run to all the major towns on Lake Maggiore and the Borromeo Islands. A car is recommended for exploring further afield.

Driving directions. From Milan Malpensa Airport. Take the A8 motorway towards Sesto Calende.
Take the A26 to Gravellona Toce.
Exit the A26 at Baveno.
Continue straight through the centre of Baveno to Stresa.
The hotel is situated on the left, next to the first set of traffic lights.
