Beschreibung

The impressive Villa Aminta is set in lush floral gardens in northern Italy, overlooking Lake Maggiore and the Borromeo Islands. The 66 guestrooms are highly decorative, all featuring Italian furnishings, many with Murano lamps or chandeliers and handmade frescoes. All rooms open out onto balconies or terraces with garden or lake views and come equipped with satellite television with pay movies, Internet connections, hair dryers, safes, minibars, air conditioning, and direct-dial complimentary toiletries and some include jetted tubs.
The hotel offers two dining options, offering a range of international and Mediterranean dishes, served by candlelight indoors or out on the terrace. There is also an Italian villa-style bar serving drinks and cocktails with live piano music some nights. Guests can bask in the Mediterranean sun on the terrace around the outdoor pool and enjoy snacks and drinks from the poolside bar, while taking in views of the Borromeo Islands. For those who wish to capture the view, the hotel offers art lessons, as well as holding decoupage and cookery classes on request. The hotel has its own private beach from where boat excursions and water sports are available, and guests can use the tennis court by the lake, stroll through the surrounding parkland, or take advantage of the hotel's bike rental service. Those wishing to relax, can visit the spa, retire to the reading room with a quiet book, or indulge in a massage in the hotel's treatment room. Nearby attractions include a zoo, which is 1.5 kilometres away, and the Alpinia Botanical Gardens, which are within 10 kilometres. The Centovalli Mountain Railway which connects to Switzerland, is 35 kilometres away. Milan Malpensa Airport is 30 kilometres from the hotel. Taxis are available outside the terminal. Alternatively, the hotel operates a shuttle service, bookable in advance for a fee.

Anfahrt

From the Milan Malpensa Airport:
Take the A8 in the direction of Laghi - Sesto Calende
Then join the A26 towards Gravellona Toce.
Exit at Arona and follow the SS33, with the lake on the right, for about 18 kilometres to Stresa.
Alternatively, exit the A26 at Carpugnino (no buses) and follow the narrow road for five kilometres to Stresa.

romantisch schön

Sehr toll instand gehaltenes hotel direkt am lago maggiore. frühstück ist wie in italien üblich und leider auch nicht wirklich mehr. am pool liegen und dazu ein glässchen prosecco hat den tag perfekt gemacht. von einem Dreibettzimmer würe ich Abstand nehmen, war viel zu eng, wäre selbst als Doppelzimmer noch sehr klein.
