Location. Atahotel Capotaormina is built into rocky cliffs overlooking Naxos Bay with a private beach, this modern resort hotel offers striking views of Mount Etna and Isabella Island, and is two kilometres from Taormina's centre. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is 50 kilometres away, an approximate driving time of 45 minutes.
Hotel Features.The hotel has its own private beach, with sunbeds, complimentary towels, umbrellas and a bar, accessible by elevator from the lobby to an illuminated rocky grotto at the base of the cliff. The purified seawater pool and spa tub are set into the cliff face with stunning views, and there is a poolside bar, a gym with personal trainers, a sauna, and a beauty salon and hairdressers. A complimentary shuttle bus runs to the centre of Taormina six times a day, and there is free garage parking.

The Atahotel Capotaormina's Naxos Restaurant is located on the second floor of the hotel with large windows offering panoramic views of the Bay and Mount Etna. It serves a modern fusion of Italian and Sicilian dishes, with house specialities including Sicilian-style pasta, fish and homemade desserts. At the La Scogliera Restaurant Seafood specialities are served overlooking the pool and the beach, and a Mediterranean buffet is available for lunch with an á la carte menu offered for candle-lit dinner.

At the private beach guests can use pedal boats free of charge, and there are opportunities for wind surfing and water skiing. There is an 18-hole golf course 25 kilometres from the hotel.

Guestrooms. Atahotel Capotaormina offers 200 guestrooms located on seven floors, which have light, modern decor in cool shades with carpeted floors and Mediterranean-style furnishings. All offer terraces or balconies, air conditioning, cable television, direct-dial phones, wireless Internet access, safes, walk-in wardrobes and minibars. Bathrooms have bathrobes, slippers, complimentary toiletries and hair dryers.

Expert Tip. The Teatro Greco (Greek Amphitheatre) is Taormina's most visited monument,offering a view of rare beauty featuring the seacoast and Mount Etna.

Anfahrt

Getting there. The best way to get from the airport is by private car or taxi. A taxi from the airport should cost approximately 100 EUR. An Airbus departs every 20 minutes to Taormina train station, two kilometres from the hotel, from 5 AM to midnight. The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to the centre of Taormina. Local bus services and taxis also operate. A car would be useful to explore further afield.

Driving directions. From the airport take the motorway for Catania-Messina and exit at Taormina. Follow directions to Taormina Sea (Mare) and then directions to the hotel for about three kilometres.
