A patrician villa dating from the 1920s, the Grand Hotel Miramare is set in quiet hillside gardens overlooking the Bay of Mazzaro, 400 metres from the centre of Taormina. The hotel has 68 air-conditioned guestrooms featuring traditional decor with light walls, antique-style furniture and rich coloured fabrics. All offer sea views and have satellite television, direct-dial telephones, safes, minibars and bathrooms with hairdryers. Superior room types also have balconies or terraces.
Guests can stroll through the peaceful Sicilian gardens down to the swimming pool for an afternoon of sunbathing or a drink or snack from the poolside bar, or enjoy a more active game of tennis on the onsite court. Those who prefer the seaside can take the shuttle which runs during the summer months to the local beaches. Mediterranean specialities and international dishes are served in the restaurant, which open out onto a terrace with stunning panoramic views for al fresco dining in the summer, while the poolside bar offers light lunches including salads and ice-cream desserts. In the evenings, there are piano and string quartet performances twice a week. The daily papers are available in the lobby lounge and there is also a computer terminal with Internet access. The front desk is open round the clock and guests can consult multilingual staff for local information and tour advice. Those arriving by car can make use of valet parking (surcharge). The hotel is within 400 metres of the Taormina's main street Corso Umberto and the ancient Greek theatre. The village of Castelmola, which overlooks Taormina, is seven kilometres away and further afield, Mount Etna is 40 kilometres from the hotel. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is 50 kilometres and an hour's drive away.

Anfahrt

Regular buses run between the airport and the vicinity of the hotel. Taxis are available at the airport and will cost about 75 EUR each way.
From the airport, take the highway north to Catania - Messina. Exit at Taormina and follow the signs to the centre.
