Location. The modern Grand Hotel San Pietro Relais & Châteaux is located in Taormina, Italy, within 800 metres of the Old Town. The nearest railway station is Giardini Naxos.
Hotel Features. The six-storey Grand Hotel San Pietro is on a hillside overlooking the sea, and has views of Isolabella Bay and Mount Etna. Staff at the 24- hour front desk can give advice on local attractions.

Complimentary buffet breakfast is available at the hotel. From the large windows of the Il Giardini delgi Ulivi restaurant, the view looks across the terrace to the sea. Light lunches can be enjoyed under the olive trees or, inside, there is an a la carte daily menu of regional and international dishes accompanied by a wide range of Sicilian wines. An intimate place for drinks, La Melarancia is dressed in richly coloured fabrics, sofas and windows that also open onto the terrace.

Business services are available at the Grand Hotel San Pietro. The hotel offers a limousine service, and complimentary parking is available.

The hotel has an outdoor pool, and a beauty corner provides various treatments. Guests can use the hotel's library. A shuttle bus operates between Grand Hotel San Pietro, the private beach and wellness club, which has a fitness area, steam and spa bath, and offers massage treatments. Various watersports are on offer at the beach, including windsurfing, scuba diving and jet skiing.

Guestrooms. The Grand Hotel San Pietro's 63 air-conditioned rooms are individually designed with different colour schemes, elegant Sicilian wood furniture and parquet floors. All rooms have satellite television, Internet connections (surcharge), minibars and safes. Bathrooms have bath/shower combinations, slippers, and bathrobes.

Anfahrt

From Catania Fontanorossa Airport (CTA):
Distance to Grand Hotel San Pietro Relais & Châteaux is 50 kilometres, approximately 60 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The number 457 city bus departs every 20 minutes to central Catania. Buses also run directly to Syracuse and Taormina. Tickets are available from a booth in front of the terminal building, and must be validated when boarding. Taxis cost around 25 EUR to Catania, 50 EUR to Syracuse, and 100 EUR to Taormina. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. An inexpensive rail network links Sicily's larger towns, including Palermo, Messina, Catania, Taormina, and Syracuse. There are also trains from Catania to Giardini Naxos station, which is four kilometres from the hotel. Buses run throughout the towns and many of the smaller villages. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas. The hotel has complimentary parking on site.

Driving directions. From Catania Fontanorossa Airport:
Take motorway A18 and exit at Taormina.
Follow directions to Taormina centre and, at the Porta Messina Gate, turn left onto the Via Pirandello.
The entrance to the Grand Hotel San Pietro is 400 metres along this road.
