Beschreibung

Location.Grand Hotel Timeo was built in 1873 in a Baroque-style and is surrounded by parkland. It is situated next to the Greek Theatre. Catania Fontanarossa Airport is 60 kilometres away, and takes around 50 minutes to reach by car.
Hotel Features.The Health and Fitness Centre includes an outdoor pool (seasonal), a gym and a wide range of health and beauty treatments, including Hammam steam baths and aromatherapy massages. Drinks are served on the Literary Terrace where guests can admire stunning views of Mount Etna and the Gulf of Naxos, and multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can assist with airport transport (surcharge) and room service requests. Complimentary parking is available for guests arriving by car.

Il Dito e la Luna is an informal à la carte restaurant serving a choice of Mediterranean, local and international dishes. During summer months the seating extends to the terrace with live piano music. Il Giardino di Bacco is a poolside restaurant serving modern Sicilian dishes, and drinks and light meals are served in La Zagara terrace bar.

Guestrooms. The 83 air-conditioned guestrooms and suites are located on four floors. All feature antique-style furnishings and extend to balconies or terraces. Amenities include satellite television, direct-dial phones, wireless Internet access (surcharge), complimentary minibars, complimentary newspapers, hair dryers, bathrobes and slippers.

Expert Tip. The Greek-Roman Theatre, next to the hotel, is the largest of its kind in Sicily and is frequently used for operatic and theatrical performances and concerts. Guests wishing to explore further can visit the beach on the small Bay of Mazzaro, which features hollowed out caves and can be reached by the funicular, 300 metres from the hotel.

Anfahrt

Getting there. The hotel offers a transfer service to and from the airport (surcharge). Taxis are available outside the terminal and fares to the hotel cost around 80 EUR. The nearest train station is Taormina - Giardini Naxos, five kilometres from the hotel. The best way to get around Taormina is on foot or by bicycle. Cars are available to hire, but the town centre traffic is so busy it is best to leave the driving to the locals and make use of bus services instead.

Driving directions. From the airport follow signs for Tangenziale Ovest and A18/A19 Autostrade. At the junction for Tangenziale ring road, turn right for A18 Messina. Continue for about 17 kilometres to the end of the ring road and the Catania Nord toll booth of the A18. Continue along the motorway for approximately 40 kilometres, exiting after the Taormina toll booth. Follow signs for Taormina Town Centre. Bear right at the fork on Via San Pancrazio and continue to the top of the road. At the Port Messina Archway turn right and immediately left. Continue past the limited access sign (Grand Hotel Timeo guests are admitted at any time), and bear left when the road forks. Follow signs to the hotel.

Bestes Hotel und beste Lage in Taormina

Kompfortables Hotel um zu entspannen. Das Frühstück auf der Terasse mit Blick aus Mittelmeer und den Ätna ist schon ein Erlebnis und ein Grund hier zu übernachten. Einige kulturelle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind nur durch längere Autofahrt zu erreichen, aber das wird durch die Lage und den Kompfor mehr als wettgemacht.
