Beschreibung

Location. The Hotel Ipanema is located in Taormina, Italy, in the bay of Mazzaro. It is 200 metres from the cable car to Taormina town centre and 200 metres from Isola Bella.
Hotel Features. The white building has been designed in keeping with the tradition of Sicilian architecture and features a classic-style interior. There is a sun terrace with freshwater swimming pool and bar service. Hotel Ipanema includes a private beach, the Ipanema Lido Beach Club, with a swimming pool and jetted tub.

The Hotel Ipenama features a bright and spacious restaurant where local and international dishes are served. A folk evening is organised once a week and includes a Sicilian buffet. The Ipenama Lounge Bar offers snacks and drinks in a classic style ambience with piano. A complimentary breakfast buffet is provided in the morning. The half-board rate includes breakfast and a four-course dinner menu.

The Ipanema Lido Beach Club offers a pool with deckchairs and umbrellas, a football pitch and a tennis court. Many water sports are available, such as windsurfing, water skiing, boating and jet skiing. The Picciolo Golf Club is five kilometres from the hotel.

Guestrooms. The 55 air-conditioned guestrooms are spacious and bright and feature traditional style wooden furniture and tiled floors. All rooms have balconies or terraces. The bathrooms have showers or shower/tub combinations, and designer toiletries. All guestrooms are equipped with satellite television, clock radios, direct-dial phones, minibars and safes.

Expert Tip. The most remarkable monument in Taormina is the ancient Greek theatre, which is remarkably well-preserved. Although most of the original seats have disappeared, it is frequently used for theatre and opera performances.

From Catania Fontanarossa Airport (CTA):
Distance to Hotel Ipanema is 45 kilometres, approximately 30 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The SAIS bus runs to Taormina and stops at Piazzale della Funivia, outside the Hotel Ipanema. Tickets are available from a booth in front of the terminal building, and must be validated when boarding. Taxis cost around 100 EUR to the hotel. The hotel offers airport transfer at a surcharge. The price is subject to change.

Getting around. An inexpensive rail network links Sicily's larger towns, including Palermo, Messina, Catania, Taormina, and Syracuse. Buses run throughout the towns and many of the smaller villages. A car is recommended for exploring the less touristy areas.
