Location. The Hotel Metropole overlooks the Lagoon in Venice, Italy, 300 metres from St Mark's Square, and within 600 metres of the Giardini Biennale.
Hotel Features. The hotel is located in a building which dates from the 16th century, and features romantic-style furnishings, scattered cushions, and framed artworks. Wireless Internet access is available in public areas for a surcharge, and multilingual staff provide concierge services.

Hotel Metropole's restaurant, Met, has one Michelin star, and serves dishes using local Veneto ingredients. A complimentary breakfast buffet is available each morning.

Guestrooms. The hotel's 67 guestrooms are air-conditioned, and feature patterned wallpaper, ornate furnishings, and rich tones. Amenities available in all guestrooms include satellite television, clock radios, direct-dial phones, minibars, safes, and designer toiletries.

Distance to the Hotel Metropole is 8 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. ATVO buses run every 30 minutes to Piazzale Roma in the city centre. The journey time is 20 minutes and single tickets cost 3 EUR. The ACTV number 5 bus also goes to Piazzale Roma. The number 15 bus runs between the airport and Venice-Mestre train station. At Piazzale Roma, water buses (vaporetto) are available. A free bus service links the airport terminal to the airport jetty; from here, regular Alilaguna boats leave for the city. Single tickets cost 10 EUR. Private water taxis are available, but are typically very expensive. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Venice is best explored on foot or by public water buses (vaporetto). Three-day passes for the public water bus cost 25 EUR and offer unlimited travel. Water taxis and gondolas are also available. Gondola ferries (traghetti) cross the Grand Canal and the fare is 50 cents. Drivers can leave their cars at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto.
