The Radisson SAS Hotel Klaipeda is a five-storey hotel located 500 metres from Klaipeda's old town. The 75 guestrooms employ a modern take on the blue and red New England maritime style. All extend to balconies and are equipped with cable television, complimentary high-speed wireless Internet, direct-dial phones, and complimentary newspapers. Bathrooms include telephones, hair dryers, and bathrobes.
Guests can unwind with a drink and a complimentary newspaper in the Lounge Bar. The light and airy 70-seat Newport restaurant is open for breakfast, à la carte lunches and dinners, and serves snacks and cocktails in the evening. Guests are invited to unwind in the second- floor fitness studio, which features modern exercise equipment and a steam bath. The hotel houses two 50- square-metre meeting rooms, which can be combined into one large conference room, and are equipped with audio- visual facilities. Multilingual staff at the 24-hour front desk can provide room service, safeguard valuables, and exchange currency. Free parking is available for guests arriving by car. The hotel is sited 500 metres from the narrow, cobbled streets of Klaipeda's old town. Founded in 1252, Klaipeda was formerly known as Memel and was under Swedish, Russian, German, and French control until it became part of Lithuania in 1923. The seaport, the northernmost ice-free port on the Baltic Sea, is one kilometre from the hotel. Palanga International Airport is 29 kilometres away and can be reached by car in approximately 30 minutes.
