Location. The Amway Grand Plaza is located in downtown Grand Rapids, Mich. Van Andel Museum Center stands 350 yards from this property. The Grand Rapids Children's Museum is positioned one-half mile away.
Hotel Features. The Amway Grand Plaza combines the heritage of its predecessor, the Pantlind Hotel, with the addition of the contemporary Glass Tower. A total of 10 dining and lounge venues include The 1913 Room where Louis XVI décor complements French-influenced cuisine. Cygnus 27 was inspired by the Cygnus constellation and serves American-style entrées. The Lumber Baron Bar features historic ambience with a fireplace and leather club chairs, and serves premium drinks and appetizers. A Starbucks outlet prepares specialty coffees and sandwiches. Four ballrooms list among the hotel's 42 function rooms. The business center is open 24 hours. The 4th-floor fitness center houses an indoor pool and two hot tubs. Workout equipment includes Nautilus machines, cardiovascular equipment and free weights. The property offers a tanning bed and a refreshment bar. The hotel features lighted outdoor tennis courts and a racquetball court. On-site retail stores include the Plaza Men's Shop and Boutique Emmanuel.

Guestrooms. This hotel offers 682 designer-decorated guestrooms in the historic Pantlind wing or in the tower. Room décor ranges from historic traditional to modern. Beds are dressed with pillowtop mattresses, down pillows and 250-thread count sheets. High-speed wired and wireless Internet access is available for a fee. Concierge-level accommodations are located near the top of the 29-story Glass Tower and afford sweeping views of the Grand River. Concierge-level amenities include refrigerators, coffeemakers and access to the concierge lounge. High-speed Internet access and CD players are complimentary on the concierge level.

Expert Tip. The hotel concierge is versed in making special occasions even more special. Upon request, the concierge can arrange the gift of in-room massage therapy accompanied by a bouquet of flowers from the on-site floral shop.
