Location. The Amrath Grand Hotel Frans Hals is located in Haarlem, Holland, in the historical centre of the city, less than 100 metres from the Teyler's Museum, Sint-Bavo Church, and a dock for canal cruises, and one kilometre from the Frans Hals Museum. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is 19 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. A modern metropolitan hotel, the Amrath Grand Hotel Frans Hals faces onto a pedestrianised street in Haarlem's centre. The lobby has a red-carpeted spiral staircase and features a ceiling window. The hotel also offers a 24-hour front desk, lobby television and complimentary newspapers, and there is complimentary wireless Internet throughout. Parking is available nearby at the 'Appelaar' garage.

The hotel has a breakfast restaurant and bar.

There is a meeting room hosting up to 30 delegates with audio-visual equipment and wireless Internet, and a business centre on site.

Canal boats can be rented, 75 metres away, and canal cruises can be taken through Haarlem. Bicycles can also be rented and are a characteristic way to explore the city. The 18-hole Amsterdamse golf course is seven kilometres away.

Guestrooms. The 83 guestrooms at Amrath Grand Hotel Frans Hals are decorated in warm colours, with a reproduction Frans Hals painting hangings, and wooden furniture. All are air conditioned and have flat-screen televisions with DVD player, wireless Internet, laptop safes, and coffee and tea-making facilities. The bathrooms have glass doors, granite basin, and complimentary bathrobes.

Expert Tip. Sint-Bavo Church is a gothic cathedral built by the Catholic church, but since turned Protestant. Its organ was compared to the inside of the whale's mouth by Melville in 'Moby Dick', and was once played by the 10-year-old Mozart.

Anfahrt

From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS):
Distance to Amrath Grand Hotel Frans Hals is 19 kilometres, approximately 20 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Take the train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Sloterdijk and thence to Haarlem central railway station, a journey of 32 minutes. The station is one kilometre from the hotel. A taxi direct from airport to hotel costs around 35 EUR. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. There are bus services all over the city and train services connecting to the rest of Holland. Bicycles can be rented or alternatively canal boat services leave from a dock close to the hotel.

Driving directions. From the airport, take the A4 direction Amsterdam and then take the exit A9 towards Haarlem/Alkmaar.
Exit onto the A200 towards Haarlem and Bloemendaal.
Go straight ahead on Amsterdamsevaart, N200 for 1.5 kilometres.
At traffic lights, turn left, go over the bridge to the left.
After one kilometre, the entrance to the hotel's recommended parking garage 'Appelaar' will be on the right.
