Beschreibung

The Scandic Byporten is a modern and environmentally- friendly hotel situated in the city centre on Karl Johan Street, adjacent to Oslo Central Railway Station and 300 metres from the National Gallery. This seven floor property features 240 guestrooms where 97% of the materials used can be recycled - in keeping with the hotel's environmental policies. Rooms are light in tone, modern in design and feature wooden floors, large light beech headboards, pale fabrics and contemporary Scandinavian furnishings. Amenities include free high-speed Internet connections, satellite TV with pay movies and minibars.
Upon arrival in Oslo guests can walk directly from the airport express train to the hotel without even going outdoors. Multilingual staff are on hand 24- hours a day to assist guests and adjacent to the hotel is the Byporten shopping centre, a large under cover mall. The Oslo Pass is also available from the tour desk and allows guests to make the most of the city by offering discounted entry to tourist attractions. The restaurant offers a children's menu in a contemporary and informal dining environment. Wireless Internet access is available in the lobby and business guests can enjoy access to a business centre where fax, copying and computer services are offered. Car parking is available in the Bryporten shopping centre, accessible via lift direct from the lobby to the garage, at a per day surcharge. Oslo-Gardermoen Airport is 43 kilometres away.

Anfahrt

The Airport Express train takes 20 minutes from Gardermoen Airport to the Central Train Station Square. The train station is 100 metres from the hotel, accessible via an undercover walkway. Alternatively taxis are readily available and cost NOK 500-900 to city centre. Bus and coach services also provide connections to many destinations in and around Oslo. The bus terminal is 50 metres away. The city centre is easily explored on foot and buses and trams provide transport to the main tourist attractions.
Driving directions: From EG or E18 - Follow signs to Gjøvik Riksvei 4. At the roundabout follow signs towards Ring 1 and then go straight on. Oslo city centre will be on the right and the Byporten shopping centre on the left. Turn left into the Centre Car Park. Pay either in the garage or at reception.
