Beschreibung

The Victoria Falls Hotel is an imposing early 20th century colonial-style building situated in lush green parkland, one kilometre from Victoria Falls. Decorated in Edwardian-style cream with matching soft furnishings and dark wood fittings, all 180 guestrooms include air conditioning, balconies, satellite television, complimentary tea and coffee, safes, direct-dial phones and umbrellas for visiting the rain forest surrounding the Falls. Bathrooms come equipped with complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and hair dryers.
Guests enjoy the benefit of a dedicated private path which runs from the hotel grounds to Victoria Falls, one kilometre away. The hotel also offers guests use of its Edwardian swimming pool set among the landscaped gardens overlooking the falls. Guests can pamper themselves in the hotel's hair salon and massage-treatment room, head for the E-Lounge for dial-up Internet access or browse for gifts in the hotel's two gift shops. The Livingstone Room offers an a la carte and set menu with flambé dishes, a selection of seafood, steak and an extensive wine list in a colorful formal setting. Jacket and tie essential for gentlemen and smart cocktail wear for ladies; children under 12 years are not allowed. A live band plays every night except Monday. Stanley's Terrace Restaurant offers al fresco dining and an a la carte menu, a children's menu and set menus for groups of more than 15. The restaurant also serves traditional English high tea with a selection of pastries and sandwiches. The Jungle Junction features a buffet with curries, a salad bar, grills and desserts. Traditional dancers and an indigenous choir perform every night except Tuesday. Guests enjoy the use of two all- weather, floodlit tennis courts on site. Other sports available nearby include an 18-hole championship golf course at Elephant Hills Intercontinental (three kilometres away). White water rafting; bungee jumping; canoeing; microlighting; game walks and drives; elephant back safaris; helicopter flights over the Falls and cruises on the Zambezi are also available in the area. There is a traditional craft village one kilometre from the hotel, while Zambezi National Park lies two kilometres away. Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) is 22 kilometres away.

The hotel offers transport from the airport for a charge. Taxis and buses are available outside the airport, but the buses fill up quickly.
Driving directions: From the airport, turn left on the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway and drive straight ahead to the roundabout. Drive straight down past the level crossing along Livingstone way, then turn right after the Avis garage. Drive past the Kingdom hotel on the left and the next building to the left is The Victoria Falls Hotel.
