Set next to a large shopping centre, the Scandic Hotel Star Sollentuna is located 12 kilometres from the many shops, restaurants and tourist attractions of Stockholm city centre. This eight-floor hotel features 269 guestrooms, all of which are decorated in warm colours and include satellite TV, Internet connections, minibars, safes and tea and coffee making facilities. Guests can unwind in the sauna which is situated on the top floor and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. There are separate saunas for men and women, as well as changing rooms with showers, and a relaxation area. Children can enjoy the books and games in the library and during summer there is a play corner with all kinds of toys, plus a TV and VCR. The atrium-style Restaurant Cielo serves Swedish dishes with an international touch, and is open for lunch and dinner, while a range of foreign beers is available in Tillys Pub and Bistro, which holds karaoke nights every Wednesday. Guests arriving by car will appreciate the onsite parking facilities (surcharge), and there are complimentary Internet connections for those who wish to plan a day's sightseeing. Two kilometres from the hotel there is an indoor sports arena, where guests can take the family swimming and bowling. Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) is 43 kilometres from the Scandic Hotel Star Sollentuna, around 45 minutes by car.
The airport has three railway stations: one for long- distance destinations and two for frequent express trains to Stockholm. Taxis run from directly outside the terminals. When taking a taxi, passengers should speak to a taxi coordinator, found outside the terminal building. There are also bus stations outside terminals 2, 4 and 5. Stockholm has an excellent T-Banen subway system, as well as a bus and streetcar network. Taxi fares tend to be very expensive.
