A small, elegant hotel situated on Ascona's Monte Verità, commanding views of Lake Maggiore and the Ticinese Alps, the Michelangelo Swiss Quality is ten minutes from the town centre and lakeside promenade. The 17 guestrooms are individually furnished in neutral shades and warm earth tones, and open on to balconies or the hotel garden. All rooms include satellite television,telephones, minibars, clock/radios, safes, and hair dryers.
A beamed ceiling, wooden panelling and sky blue linens create a homely Alpine ambience in the Restaurant Michelangelo. Serving Italian and international cuisine, a set menu is also available on the sun terrace in the summer months. The terrace affords guests the opportunity to lounge, perhaps with a drink from the bar, and soak up splendid views of nearby Lake Maggiore and the Brissago Islands. A heated outdoor swimming pool offers the chance of a relaxing dip under clear Swiss skies, and there is also a steam bath, spa tub and sauna. Visitors arriving by car will find secure underground parking. In Ascona, guests can see the famous frescoes in the 15th century church of Santa Maria Della Misericordia, just a kilometre away. Locarno, two kilometres away, offers the Visconti Castle, the Casa Rusca municipal gallery, the San Franceso Church and impressive Piazza Grande. Lugano Agno Airport is 50 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of one hour.

Anfahrt

A shuttle bus to Lugano leaves from outside the airport terminal, in accordance with arrivals and departures, between 0800 and 2000. The nearest railway station is at Agno, a 15 minute walk from the terminal. Trains run into Lugano 2 or 3 times an hour. From Lugano, catch a train to Bellinzona, then a local train to Locarno on Lake Maggiore. Ascona is two kilometres from Locarno, and can be easily reached by taxi. The immediate hotel vicinity of Ascona and Lake Maggiore is best explored by foot.
