Beschreibung

Location. The Esplanade Hotel Resort & Spa is located in Minusio, Switzerland, 300 metres from Lake Maggiore. The Esplanade bus stop is 1.5 kilometres away.
Hotel Features. A palm-fringed driveway leads guests to the late 19th-century Latin architecture of the Esplanade Hotel Resort & Spa. The hotel towers over the Locarno residential district, and is set in 40,000 square metres of gardens that offer tennis courts and an outdoor pool which is shaded by palm trees, and features a sun terrace with sunloungers.

La Belle Epoque Restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes daily amid a historic atmosphere. A complimentary buffet breakfast is available each morning, and during the summer breakfast and lunch can be served on the terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore and the Tessin Mountains. A bar serves snacks and cocktails next to the pool.

There are seven naturally lit conference and banquet rooms seating up to 140 people, and wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel with pre-paid cards.

Le Palme Wellness and Beauty Centre at the hotel offers complimentary use of the Finnish saunas, Caldarium, a hot tub, and a fitness centre. The treatment rooms feature Ayurvedic massage, aromatherapy, facials, and body wraps. Bicycle rentals are also available on site for exploring the area.

Guestrooms. The Esplanade Hotel offers 75 air-conditioned guestrooms with views of the lake and the Tessin Mountains or the hotel's palm groves. All have parquet flooring, and include satellite television, telephones, safes, and minibars.

From Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP):
Distance to the Esplanade Hotel Resort & Spa is 120 kilometres, approximately 2 hours' drive.

Getting there. The easiest way to reach the hotel is to hire a car. The Malpensa shuttle bus runs to Stazione Centrale (central station), 50 kilometres from the hotel every 20 minutes. The fare is 4.50 EUR and journey time is 20 minutes. From there take a train to Locarno or Tenero, both three kilometres from the hotel. On request the Esplanade Hotel can offer a shuttle from here or, alternatively, buses run to the hotel. Shuttle services run directly to Minucio. Price is subject to change.

Getting around. The area around the hotel is easily explored on foot. A car is recommended for exploring further afield.

Driving directions. From Milan Malpensa Airport.
Take Highway A9 and then A2 towards Milan.
Get on Highway A2, via Lucerne and San Gotthard.
Get on Highway A3, via Chur and San Bernardino or via Chur, Disentis and Lukmanier.
Get on Highway A9 and A2 Milano - Chiasso - Lugano - Bellinzona.
Exit at Bellinzona Sud/Locarno.
Follow the main street following the signs to Locarno.
After Quartino get on Highway A13.
Exit at Minusio/Muralto.
Get on the main street Via S Gottardo.
Turn right after 1.5 kilometres.
