Location. The boutique Room Mate Larios is located in Malaga, Spain, within 300 metres of the Eighth-century Moorish Alcazabar and Gibralfaro Castle, overlooking the city. Malaga's historic harbour is 400 metres away, and Malaga Airport is 10 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. This quirky hotel has an Art Deco interior contrasting with its 19th-century façade, and the lobby has a monochromic colour scheme with cylindrical pillars and a floor-to-ceiling mirrored wall. The curved 24-hour front desk offers multilingual staff and a safe- deposit box, and complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the air-conditioned public areas.

The Larios Hotel provides a complimentary buffet breakfast until midday, and the in-house restaurant serves Mediterranean and Oriental-style dishes. The hotel's bar serves a range of refreshments.

Adopting a familiar approach to service, this Room Mate hotel operates an extended concierge service to assist guests in discovering Malaga. In addition to assisting with travel arrangements and tours, Larios and staff will direct guests to specific restaurants, cafes and shops that match the contemporary style of the hotel.

Guestrooms. The Art Deco theme extends to the 41 air-conditioned guestrooms. Citrus-coloured walls are matched with animal-print bedding, floor-to-ceiling windows with deep scarlet curtains, and photographic artwork. All are equipped with flatscreen satellite television, wireless Internet access, desks, direct-dial phones, safes, and minibars.

Expert Tip. Malaga was the home town of radical artist Pablo Picasso. The Picasso Museum contains works spanning his entire eight decades, while those craving more can indulge in the Picasso Foundation which houses a museum, library, and temporary exhibitions.

From Malaga Airport (AGP):
Distance to Larios Hotel is 10 kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Trains run between the airport train station and central Malaga station every 30 minutes. Tickets are approximately 2 EUR. The number 19 bus runs every 30 minutes to Malaga's city bus terminal. Tickets cost 1 EUR. There is a taxi rank outside the airport terminal. Fares are approximately 15 EUR to the city centre. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. Malaga's main attractions are situated within the city centre and can be easily reached on foot. A cheap and extensive bus service is in operation in the city. Driving is not recommended in the town centre, however, hiring a car is useful for exploring the coast and locations further inland.
