Location. Opened in 2005, the Riu Puerto Marina Benalmadena is housed in a modern, whitewashed property with traditional Spanish styling, and is located by the marina in Benalmadena, 11 kilometres from Malaga. The Centro Commercial shopping centre is 200 metres from the hotel and Sohail Castle is ten kilometres away. Málaga Airport is 12 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.
Hotel Features. Located beside a marina and 90 metres from a sandy beach, the Riu Puerto Marina Benalmadena features an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers, parasols, a poolside bar and a separate pool for children. The main bar serves a wide range of drinks and extends to an open-air terrace offering scenic views across the Mediterranean. The hotel also houses a games room. Other amenities include a 24-hour front desk and public Internet access (surcharge).

The informal hotel restaurant offers a varied buffet of international flavours in contemporary surroundings.

Guestrooms. The 272 guestrooms over four floors have light decor and simple, modern furnishings and feature sliding glass doors leading to balconies. All are equipped with ceiling fans, satellite television, telephones, minibars and bathrooms.

Expert Tip. Those venturing further than Benalmadena's sandy beaches will find Sohail Castle worth a visit. The castle is located on a hill overlooking the River Fuengirola as it enters the Mediterranean, and retains its original high walls and crenellated towers.
